I love DYoung as he's a hometown kid and obvious underdog based just on his size. I hope he sees most of his snaps in the slot or on screens tho as the only chance I think he has to play at the next level will be as a slot receiver or "scat back" . Peyton and Brady both lean heavily on slot receivers against LB and safeties to move the chains. Hope Devrin at least gets invited to a camp if not drafted. This season will be his only chance to make some plays and get noticed. Godspeed Devrin.

Ha, that is true! Couldn't help but get a little dig in at DB, but you're right they beat south every year! Devrin is a special athlete. Hope he busts out this year! Personally, I think he could be better than pig howard. I really do. I think that'd be a great way to use him.

If you mean he's not a burner in the truest sense then yes but, IIRC, his Sr year in HS he was one of only 2 people in the state to officially run sub-10.80 100m twice. One of those was good for a 2nd place in the 100m state championship. I also believe Young had the 2nd fastest 60m time for the UT track team the year he participated.

Young is plenty fast enough. The issue is, as has been stated earlier, he's been way too easy to knock off his pins to this point.

He runs Track for Tennessee and is one of their leading sprinters IIRC. He also went to State for track in high school and did pretty well.

He's gotten injured every year he's been here, practically.

Freshmen spring - broken collar bone
Sophomore - got significant PT but fumbled against South Carolina, never saw PT again and stopped travelling with the team
Junior - Butch sees the talent and potential, Devrin gets his first TD and breaks his hand/wrist


He's had a lot of bad luck. Wish him luck this year.

In a few live 11-on-11 plays, the offense had a couple nice plays. Young took a handoff around the left end for approximately 15 yards.

Bajakian: @YoungDevrin has had a very good spring. He brings agility and speed we desire. We will did ways to get him the ball.
