Sounds like the BLM organization to me.Led by Wayne LaPierre, the NRA is mostly in the business of self-enrichment now. Protecting the rights of gun owners is nothing more than a front for their main purpose - bilking donors for their own personal profit. Republicans in Congress won't speak out against them, because they fear a backlash from voters who would interpret criticism of the NRA as an attack on the 2nd Amendment. This irrational fear and cowardice from the right has allowed corruption to thrive inside of that organization.

I didn’t know you are a truck driver. I work with a lot of trucking companies and have for more than 20 years. My first job was even working for my uncle’s trucking company when I was 14. I spent all summer washing his trucks, sweeping the backs (box trucks), changing the oil, and whatever else he could find for me to do. That was good work for a young kid and pretty good money too making a whopping $4.35 per hour! Trucking is a great industry with great people. Thank you for helping keep this country moving during all of this craziness. You have it twisted . I don’t need lawyers to determine what they believe I have , shouldn’t have , need or don’t need . The never ending backdoor runs from attorneys trying to F people over is why there are so many politician / lawyer / used cars salesmen jokes grouped together. Commonality. There isn’t a required license, permit or safety course I have, or had to have that wasn’t cause by an attorney . I drive a truck for a living , ive had a divorce, I own firearms ( maybe - maybe not ) , you calling me a dumbass as you are explaining the worth of attorneys to me is amusing to say the least .
As a reformed Warhawk I’m starting to think we need to do a hard pass on former combat veterans as presidents. We’ve spent way too much money and young lives wasted on wars where our sovereignty was not threatened.
I’m leaning more to the DC outsider businessman model since it’s a chief executive role. I’m not inclined to want to see anybody in the WH that has been in DC over 10 years already. They’re already corrupted by that point.
I don’t disagree with most all of what you said with the exception of assuming a military experienced POTUS would automatically avoid armed conflict. It is a tremendous breeding ground for leadership though. For example McCain. While I voted for him (during my Warhawk years) I would take it back now. I can’t imagine how many people he could have killed via outright military aggression. We really need to stop these damn proxy wars.I agree with you about war. However, our latest war was started by chickenhawks, not combat vets. I think that most combat vets will understand the sacrifice and gravity of war. Military guys (and girls) are used to problem solving and compromising to complete a task. We need more of that in D.C.
Colin Powell wrote a just war doctrine that is a logical attempt at justifying the loss of life and resources. The latest gulf conflict met none of his points in the doctrine.
But Colin Powell made an argument to the NATO about WMD that has never been proven. He made that speech then basically quit public office. I am pretty sure he was pressured to make that speech and he was finished.
I am open to a anti-establishment, however, that is not a blank check for any blowhard to run our county. As a people we gotta make smarter choices. Running the country like a business only works to a certain extent. Business don't have to compromise and can make choices that Government shouldn't.

And yes I think an industry mogul makes more sense for the office. It is by its name the chief executive role. It’s a position of executing policy not pontification of what people want. And frankly Trump fits that role. Bloomberg does too. And others. Tillerson wants it I’d guess but most likely doesn’t have the charisma at this point. And frankly I think that’s largely behind their clashes both men are used to being in charge. Only one can be.
Again Trump is an asshat and miserable human being. But nothing better has been offered that I can see. Absolutely nothing from the Democrat side in fact the more they talk the more they guarantee I’ll just pull the red lever in November.
Trump is clearly an egomaniac, but stop acting like he’s the first egomaniac. You are looking at it only from the upside of industry/management/business experience. Its much more complicated than that. A President should not lie on a daily basis to the American people for his own benefit. A President must be willing to take criticism and at least think about it and question whether he ought to change his thinking, rather than reject it out of hand and viciously attack anyone who dares not subjugate to him. A President should be a moral and principled leader with a sense of empathy. A President should not undermine international alliances because he feels slighted or not regal enough.
No I’m looking at it exactly by how I see the cards laying and I don’t need you to explain to me what I should emphasize in my views. Piss off.You are looking at it only from the upside of industry/management/business experience. Its much more complicated than that. Here’s my 2 cents .. the Dems better focus on or come up with some policy that gets people’s attention on the other side of November, this virus play will eventually end and when the curtain comes down , somebody either party better be ready for Act -1 scene -1 . We (as a populous ) are going to be out of money , businesses are going to be shut down and unemployment will continue to be through the roof . I think the liberals are only and I mean only focused on one goal . Promising or even making free education/ health care possible , will not help the 800 pound gorilla sitting in the room . If you don’t come up with some meaningful solutions we will be back here in 4 years or 8 and the left will loose all majority plus the Oval Office . ( IMO)

Very true about the OTR. I do love heavy haul though. You guys are always up to something cool. The amount of planning that goes into some of those loads is unbelievable, especially if you’re traveling through multiple states. Thanks for sharing.Thank you, but it’s the over the road and long haulers that we should thank . Those guys are the lifeblood of this country and it comes at a heavy price to them personally and their families . I’m more specialized.. heavy hauler .
