IT's NOT ONE GAME, look at Vanderbilt last year, FL last year, Butch did not exceed expectations on the football field:) last year

The truth shall set you free

Should definitely quit on a man after a year and 4 games... smh. Not even arguing your point that eyebrows should be raised. Your approach is dramatic and over the top, however.

Several of you keep blaming Dereck Dooley but the fact is he recruited reasonably well. Look at the early NFL success for OL recruited by Dooley. The OL UNDERACHIEVED LAT YEAR, this year the OL FORGOT TO SHOW UP but regardless this is on BUTCH. Look at the remaining schedule, we are very well looking at 5-7 best. What makes you think after the Offensive joke that showed against FL can beat KY, USCjr or MISSOURI . After what I saw against FL we are looking at 5-7 best or 4-8 more likely. Kevin Sumlin exceeded expectations, Nick Sabal exceeded expectations, Urban Meyer exceeded expectations, Mark Richt exceeded expectations in his early GA years, Jimbo Fisher exceeded expectations, BUTCH HAS NOT, HE PLAYED TO LOSE AGAINST FL! MARK MY WORDS, MARK THIS POST, 5-7 BEST THIS YEAR! I'll be back to point out that I'm right, BUTCH is not the Long Term Solution to TN success...sad but true

Where were you last year when play USCe.

Please tell me you are!!! YES, THE SEASON CHANGED AFTER THE FL GAME AND VOLNATION KNOWS IT AS WELL AS BUTCH.

REMOVE THE ORANGE GOGGLES!!!!!!! SATURDAY'S PERFORMANCE WAS PITIFUL, I REPEAT PITIFUL. TN PLAYED NOT TO LOSE. BUTCH KNOWS IT WAS A MUST WIN AND HE FAILED, PLAIN AND SIMPLE!....THE HOT SEAT STARTED, MARK MY WORDS. THE GREAT COACHES EXCEED EXPECTATIONS BUTCH HAS ONLY DONE THIS ON THE RECRUITING TRAIL BUT NOWHERE ELSE, DEFINITELY NOT ON THE FIELD.:lolabove:

With Driskel floundering like a beached whale and Treon Harris suspended indefinitely, just who is going to lead that underwhelming offense to the SEC East championship?

Good point. They don't play UT every week so it will actually matter who plays qb for them.

I think most are so ready to throw the towel in that they are failing to see the big picture here. FL loss was ugly, no two ways about it, but who says that is how they will play the rest of the year? What if they end up playing like they did against OU or GA? Georgia still has three or four losable games left with Mizzou, Arky, Aurburn, and even Florida. Florida still has LSU, Georgia, and USCe so they also can lose three games.

Georgia is currently 2-1, so it is possible they can end up 5-3 or even 4-4 in the East.

Florida is currently 2-1, so it is possible they can end up 5-3 or even 4-4 in the East as well.

My point is that one game does not change the fact that it is still possible to finish with a conference record similar to UGA and FL. GO VOLS!!!!!

very true but at the end of the day we just lost to florida for 10 years in a row. They can beat bama, ole miss, etc.. but who cares at this point. We have no chance to win the sec and we just lost to florida for 10 YEARS IN A ROW. Another disappointing year for us ut fans, atleast were used to it now.

I don't disagree there on Florida. This however is a sorry attitude to have because it does still matter. If they can get back on track with the UGA and OU Games then we still have a real shot at a bowl game and in the end that ought to be every fans goal at this point.

Butch is not even close to turning it around, MARK MY POST, I'll be back, the sad thing is I really wish I were wrong but you all know I'm right, BUTCH is not an SEC top tier coach, period!

Actually, you're wrong saying that Butch can't coach. He HAS exceeded expectations with the tools he has to work with. He lost by 3 to GA and 1 to Florida. Dude seriously, match talent to talent. He is building a winner. Now, I'm taking next season into consideration but things are going to look much different.

Have you ever played ball? The O-line is the anchor for everything offense. That's why we can't run. That's why you see our QB in pressure situations and getting sacked continuously. I'm surprised we haven't seen more turnovers. I hate seeing our poor production on offense as well but you have to give the man time to get SEC caliber players upfront. Say what you want but how often do you see a team lose ALL players upfront after 1 year, and on both sides of the ball? He had more pieces to fit the D-line. Have you see the major improvements on Defense? That's coaching. It kills me to hear people who have no football IQ come on here and spit garbage.

You are the one that is going to look foolish.

For who Kentucky, Missouri, South Carolina? Not us.

South Carolina isn't as good as they should be. Yes, Kentucky has played well but let's not forget how awful they played against Vanderbilt. Georgia still has a good shot of winning the East because they are stacked at RB. Yes, Gurley is special, but having guys like Chubb and Michel help you out too. Missouri is still up in the air. Their defensive line is as good as it gets, mainly in the rush. I think if we can get our crap together (which is still possible) we can do well in the East. All 3 of them are beatable, not to mention Vandy is just awful. I'm not looking forward to playing Ole Miss (cue Dexter McCluster nightmares) however, I think we have a good shot in the Eastern division still. Keep your heads up

Butch is creating a winning program here. Our best players are the freshman/sophomores that Butch brought in himself (North, Hurd, Malone, TK, Sutton, JRM, etc). You can clearly see how much better his talent is than the ones Dooley had, exception for AJ, Curt, Randolph, and Pig. We will be much improved next year, especially when we add this year's stellar class. I'll tell you what, I'm super excited to bring in former Alabama running back Alvin Kamara. He was a top 5 RB in the country coming out of high school and seeing his film is unreal. The guy is going to be a stud and come out with a vengeance and prove to teams like Alabama that he should've got more playing time.
