Can anyone think of another season in which their best player was not available for the entire 2nd half/postseason and still won the World Series? The Braves are the only one from recent memory that I can recall. Just goes to show how important the entire roster is. Go remove 40 HR, 100 RBI and 70 SB from your team and see how they perform. Truly one of the most remarkable championship runs and I am so happy I got to watch it all unfold.

Why go anywhere else when you play before 102K fans + being on TV each week?
I mean, that's enough exposure I would think any young player would like to have.
Not everything in life is about money but these kids don't know that though.

Has to be a school from the Big 10. Can’t think of another conference I would leave for.

Greg Maddux was a whale of a pitcher but with today's technology you'd see he got a lot of strikes on pitches out of the zone. This was especially the case when Eric Gregg was umping. Gregg was worse than Angel Hernandez

Kind of hard to call the zone whenever a guy has that kind of movement. You ever seen the whiffle ball pitch Maddux had against Alou? Filthiest pitch ever.

Why don’t we just offer 1 year scholarships, clear the roster at the conclusion of each season and start over recruiting a team, every year.
I mean, if we’re gonna get stupid, we might as well get stupid, right?
How much fun would that be? Recruiting would run from the minute the last game ends, until the day before the first game.
If a player doesn’t crack the 2 deep, they will be relegated to D2 and will have to work their way back to D1.

Hell, don't just get mad bc it doesn't go your way. Don't take your ball & go home. The next team you go to players will be fighting there for competition at playing time too.

Recruited over and "portaled" over. Opens a spot here and gives him a chance to start somewhere less demanding. It's like when we had many DBs portaling out after last season, which was the key to us turning over our suspect secondary this season, and people blindly panicked. It's not "chaos." Just like Tony cycles some out. And brings in others. No one says CTV's big portal gets are "chaos." But the spots have to open, one way or another.

This is really ok.

You're right this is okay til his brother Caleb follows him, same scenario for Nathan Spillman if he portals out what's the odds his high profile brother Edwin does the same?
