Enjoy your enthusiasm about the game of baseball but there are a couple of honorary Braves fans in the dugout.

Not trying to mention names but WTOB and @VolPack22 get upset.

Just a little friendly advice for future reference.
I’m not upset by what he posted. Olson looked terrible with the at bat he had with ducks on the pond just ready to be knocked in. With Olson batting at times you don’t know what he will do … a homer or looking bad swinging & missing on a 3-2 count there. All you can do is shake your head in disgust hoping the big bats perform when they should in those moments. It was a big let down from Olson.

Denial is the first sign of aggression.

Thanks for the heads up, I like both of those guys and will mind my P's & Q's.

Prior to making my OP, I looked up the line-up card with batting averages. He's got the lowest batting average in the line-up and I made my post. I'm pragmatic when it comes to professional athletes because it's their job.

If it were me, I'd feel extreme pressure to do better if I were a first baseman batting .231 on a team where that is the lowest BA on a team that obviously has a good coaching staff as evidenced by everyone else's BA.

It's not like I don't like Olson, He's one of my favorite players. It's not like I don't have some kind of reasonable rationale.

I consider myself to be a guest here and don't want to disrespect the website or it's members, ever. I honestly believe the Vol fans to be the best and most loyal fans in baseball, football and basketball. I don't even know how a university can be so good at so many sports at the same time and those are just the sports I choose to watch.

Your cool man no problem.

BTW I was pulling your leg, those guys are okay little razzing that's all.🤪🤪🤪

All this Homerun bashing is great but to win in Omaha manufacturing runs is the key.

Last season in CWS I believe there were 15 games total and only 35 homers were hit.

That's just a tad over 2 per game, the field has dimensions of a MLB field, plus pitching will be key.

That's what everyone said about playing in Lexington heading into this past weekend also. Maybe, maybe not.

For a first baseman, his batting average (.231) isn't cutting it. I'd send him down to the minors and either go with the depth chart or bring a different guy up from the Gwinnett Braves.

This’ll get good when VP clocks in...

He would’ve already posted a response but he stroked out reading that!😂
He’ll recover and be along shortly.
I’ll disagree on sending him to the minors. Just last season Olson was sporting a BA in the .220’s in mid-June but still managed to get hot and finish with his highest BA ever, the most HR and RBI in the NL. If you look at his OPS, it is more in line with his numbers from 2 seasons ago. As long as he is performing at that level then you can’t be too upset with him. The BA will probably pick up the second half of the season but last year was an aberration. It is not likely he finishes with a .280+ BA in a season for the rest of his career. His career average is .255 so anything over .260 is great for him. We just need his power hitting. We do have the best team BA in the majors after all so we can afford to have a guy that doesn’t consistently hit the ball as long as he is getting on base and producing in the power department.

If you ask me, I’m more concerned with Acuña. Yeah he is back to hitting .300 again, the OBP is there, and the stolen base numbers are there but the lack of power hitting from him is concerning. 1 HR this far into the season is not normal for him by any means. At least he is still contributing in other ways but we need him to be MVP level. I know he had the injury scare in spring training and maybe that is the reason but the power hitting is the only thing lacking from him this year. That’s usually a sign of apprehension towards full torque in your swing. I know it took him an entire season to get back to his normal self after the ACL injury. Hopefully he isn’t playing mind games with himself and starts letting loose with his swing.

We lead the country in homers and doubles. Even if the ball isn’t flying out of the park we are still getting plenty of extra base hits. I’m more concerned with the pitching. The team ERA ballooned from 3.76 to 3.98 over the weekend. And the ERA in conference play is now 5.59. That’s just not good enough. If we don’t get more consistent in that department then it might be a 2 and out in Omaha, if we even make it there.

Who is everyone? Could be related to they I suppose.
Good grief, great tactic that adds nothing to the actual conversation. Let's parse semantics to draw attention from the validity of the content.

Restated: many people voiced a similar opinion about playing in Lexington last weekend. Results from our series would call into question your conclusion that HR will be a less effective weapon for this team in Omaha.
