Those 75 games included Regionals and College World Series games. Georgia has least 6 more regular season games plus SEC tournament and Regionals and so on.And teams played more games back in the 80s. Yeah Incaviglia has the home run record but he also had 75 games to do it. He hit a homer in 64% of his games. Lance Berkman hit a homer in 65% of his games in 1997. Condon is currently hitting a homer in 71% of his games. I mean Frank Fazzini is tied for 9th all-time with 33 homers but he played 81 games for crying out loud. At Condon’s pace, if he was allowed 81 games he would hit 57 homers. Even if he were allowed to play 75 games he would be on pace to hit 53 homers. Either way, Condon is having the best home run season of all-time and quite possible to best overall season of all-time.
They actually only have 5 regular season games left. They don’t have a midweek game next week. The most they can mathematically reach at this point is 73 games and that is if they are playing in elimination games in each round. LSU and Florida each played 71 games last year. He will be lucky to get to play in 60 games. Advancing in the postseason is never guaranteed. You can’t argue that they did indeed play more games in the 80s. Oklahoma State played 65 regular season games in 1985 and Georgia is only getting 53. Yeah postseasons are longer now but they still played more games back then. Those 75 games included Regionals and College World Series games. Georgia has least 6 more regular season games plus SEC tournament and Regionals and so on.
Condon can play as many games as Pete did as long as Georgia keeps winning .
Yeah we were involved in 2 of the 5 highest scoring CWS games and those were in the same CWS lol@VolPack22
I was going to respond with the same thing you said but decided to leave it alone. If you watched college ball in those days the home runs were ridiculous and close to ruining the sport. We can debate the Incy and Condon efforts but there is no debating there was an era where it was far easier to hit home runs than today. Incy was one of the greatest to ever play college baseball and never spent a day in The minor leagues. He also had a pretty mediocre MLB career…Condon is doing it against much better pitching talent and will probably be a better MLB than Incy. I will take nothing away from either of those gentlemen. Condon is the best hitter for both avg and power that I have seen in quite some time.
I’m really liking all the offseason moves and draft selections for the Titans. They lost me whenever they drafted Captain Mayo and are seemingly hitching their wagon to him but everything this year, outside of letting Henry walk, has been spot on imo.
We'll see how this guy does 3-4 years from now...
