Yeah it’s always about money and supposedly “player safety”. The players don’t like to work so they have fought tooth and nail to eliminate back to backs. It’s sad to see athletes not care about an 82 game season but decide to flip the switch for the playoffs. That’s why I always admired MJ and Kobe. They never willingly took nights off. They knew that kid up in the nosebleeds was watching them play for the first and only time in person and they wanted to give it their all for those kids. You get paid very handsomely to play a kids game. The least you can do is show up to work on a daily basis. Seriously, I guess I misunderstood; I suppose you are asking more about why they don’t have back-to-back game days now. I don’t have an answer to that, other than I am certain it involves![]()
