Twins won the season series against the Tigers and Mariners so they own the tiebreaker over those two teams. Tigers won the season series over the Mariners so they own the tiebreaker over them.

The other teams to look out for are the Red Sox, Rays and possibly the Rangers as a long shot. Tigers own the season series over the Red Sox, lost the season series to the Rangers and still have 3 games with the Rays to decide the season series with them.

If scores hold, the Twins lead will be trimmed to 3 games. Tigers, Mariners, and Red Sox will all be tied. Twins are in the midst of an epic collapse over the past month.

Tigers are rooting for the Twins, Mariners, Red Sox, Rays, and Rangers to lose games down the stretch. There are only 18 games left to make up 3 games in the standings. If the Twins were to finish 9-9, the Tigers would have to hope to finish 13-5 due to the Twins owning the tiebreaker. Biggest thing to root for at the moment is hoping the Twins continue their downward spiral because 13-5 is a big ask considering the Tigers still have 6 games vs the Orioles and 3 games vs the Royals. Those are going to be huge series for Detroit that will more than likely decide their fate.
