The Dugout - General Topics, Chat, Random Photos and Memes.......No Politics

I coached league ball and a few elite HS teams…didn’t play since a saw my little brother get hit in the knee when I was out with a broken leg. Those stitches left marks! I’m out! So I played football…go figger… 😎

I played through middle school but didn’t have the talent to go any further. I played football through high school and was on my way to Austin Peay(before they gave scholarships) but messed my shoulder up pretty bad. I got lazy and didn’t put in the work to come back.😞
GBO!!

How many of you guys played baseball, past the high school level?
GBO!!
I was good enough to get a partial scholarship offer from Tennessee Wesleyan after a tryout after my senior season of high school. Part of me wishes I would have accepted that and just figured out the finances later. I just knew I wasn’t going to be able to afford to go there, even with financial aid. I also remember trying out for Lincoln Memorial but didn’t get an offer from them. I probably could have gone to a really crappy program but every team I had ever been on in my life had a winning record and I don’t think I would’ve handled losing that well at that age 😂

I will say the stat I am most proud of is that I only had 1 error at first base my senior season. Still eats me alive to this day that I didn’t have a perfect fielding %. Growing up, they forced me to play all positions in little league all the way up until middle school, so I felt I was a fairly well rounded defensive player.

I don't care who you are, that right there is funny as heck.

Braves up 3-1 T6. Going for their 14th in a row. I’m really liking this rookie Michael Harris II. Slash line of .360/.385/.640 since June 1st. Has at least one hit in all but two games this month.

Austin Riley is my favorite player. He has been since he was called up a couple of years ago.
Dude is from the Memphis area and was on his way to play for MS St. when he was drafted.
Plus he favors one of my twin boys with his play & with his looks.

Where abouts in Louisville? I'm just north of Prospect I'm Goshen. Been here 35 years.
I visit Louisville back around 1990 while living in Ohio. 3 things I remembered. There were two huge indoor malls each with department stores across the street from each other. There was a restaurant where a train brought your food. And while driving someone behind me yelling, “Ohio go home”

The malls still exist, although I’ve only been in either one only once.

And gosh, Ohio drivers are the worst.

He has turned himself into a stud of a player. I didn’t think we would ever find a consistent third baseman after Chipper retired. I hope Riley is a Brave for life.
