JG at QB = not likely to win
God .... don't ever bring his name up again in a post. Remember him
where he fumbled the ball in the end zone on a QB sneak that he changed
the play on his own playing Bama? And then they picked the ball up & ran for
a TD the other way to seal the Bama victory. That JG QB numb-skull? How
embarrassing was that in TN Vols football history.

He hands that ball off it's a one score game, iirc. Scores standing up.

But fortunately back to reality and the now is a great place to be.

Last second. Prevent defense did it's usual thing: it prevented the win. 💩 Cornpone regime so don't really care now.
Is that where the receiver (BYU) got behind our defense & scored a long TD the last second? That was the game I've been thinking about. Still pissed over it.

This reminds me how we were to win playing BYU a couple of yrs ago.

nothing to do with him….take it up with Alontae Taylor but even worse and more to blame was Nigel Warrior…tell me wth was the safety doing on this coverage and piss poor angle…people get beat off the line all the time but the safety has to come and make that tackle…one of the most infuriating plays ever

Still unbelievable to recall/watch again this day.

My claim to fame is being in the building to see Vols lose 2001, 2004, and 2007 Sec Title games, I was at the BYU debacle, I was at the 2011 game in Lexington for the first loss to Kentucky in ages, also got to witness the Kentucky loss the COVID year in Neyland…I might be slightly mad forever!

My first ever Tennessee-Florida game was the Gafney non catch…I have seen some doozies!

Had everything to do with JG. Could only score 16 points in regulation and only 3 in the 2nd half. Started the 2nd half with a 10 point lead and throws a pick on our side of the field to gift them 7 points. So instead of being the game manager and holding the lead with a punt he gave the game away with one stupid play.

If you have more points than a team when you leave the field…then it becomes somebody else‘s job to get it done…he surely played a part in it but others were more to blame. I still can’t get over Warrior coming over and blowing that play. Never will.

You can’t expect your defense to pitch a shutout nearly the whole game. Same with this year’s team. Your offense’s minimum expectation should be 20 points. If you can’t even do that then it falls on the offense’s shoulders. The defense did their part for the majority of that game. The only touchdown they gave up in regulation was after that pick JG threw at his own 20 yard line.

Against BYU…I expect quite a bit…at that point in the game we should have won 16-13. Games play out in crazy ways..sometimes 16 is enough…other times 40 isn’t enough. Remember the 2003 Vols win over Miami 10-6?

Majority was key word…wasn’t enough that day.
