The Dugout - General Topics, Chat, Random Photos and Memes.......No Politics

I understand @VolPack22 that SEC is strongest Conference but this is about Politics not who is the best teams.

I could be wrong but I don't see the Committee putting a 5th SEC team in unless everyone else drops the ball.
Yes, if everything stays status quo the max will be 4 teams in but this season has been anything but status quo. I expect us to see some shockers the last few weeks.

Yes but our game was never in doubt. Whenever we all played 3 similar teams then nothing should change. What exactly was so much more impressive about BYU’s and Indiana’s wins for them to jump us? This whole thing is a sham.
Size alone, Tenn would push around the O line or D line of either BYU and IU looks D2 size compared to IU.

Even in highlights, IU qb throws a ball that wobbles and isn't a spiral. It's low quality football. It just is.

You might be too young to remember but some of these low-life
good for nothing QBs that play for other teams when playing the Vols
we have a tendency to make them look like Heisman candidates of the year.

Snippet from ESPN:

Eleven weeks into the 2024 season, and one thing seems abundantly clear: The SEC is the best conference in college football. Take a look at Bill Connelly's SP+ rankings, for example, where nine of the top 17 teams are from the SEC. Or use ESPN's FPI metric, where the SEC has spots 1, 2, 4, 5 and 9. Consider the team currently ninth in the SEC standings, South Carolina, has three wins over SP+ top-40 teams and losses to the committee's No. 10 and 22 teams by a combined total of five points.

Indiana's best win came last week against Michigan (No. 40 in SP+) by 3. Penn State's best win (by SP+) came by 3 against a below-.500 USC team that just benched its QB. Ohio State is absolutely elite on paper, but on the field, the Buckeyes' success is entirely buoyed by a 20-13 win at Penn State, a team we also know very little about.

Blah blah blah. Yawn.

Just highlighting what everyone already knows: the Little Ten is extremely weak top to bottom compared to the SEC.
We get it. We've heard it all before. DGAF. Vols just need to win and move on. That's it.
We don't need all this BS talk about other conferences doing this or that. Just win.
The cards will fall where they may. It'll be ok. Life will go on if we lose here or there..

Unfortunately it has to be talked about. Otherwise we just bend over and take whatever the selection committee deems “deserving”.

It’s not about being happy. It’s about throwing a fit over it so Greg Sankey will grow a pair and do what needs to be done.
Sankey isn't going to do ****. Like I said earlier Sankey and Big Ten Commissioner are in bed together in this CFP scenario. He isn't going to do anything to hurt that relationship.
