The Dugout - General Topics, Chat, Random Photos and Memes.......No Politics

A little too late on that encouragement thing.
They're referring to the future because they know it's coming.

I didn't say it here, but during coaches interview I shushed them in case the coaches referenced juju or the game being weird at the end with Duke player slipping and falling for no reason and then later, getting the ball taken right out of a dook players hands etc.

The reality is that I could see that duke was wearing down, hands on hips earlier than Kent by quite a bit and Kent was in better shape even though they had to first chip away at a 5 pt lead.

There are tell tale signs.

Next tenn football game watch to see which Oline and D line has their hands on their hips consistently and you'll see that team struggle. It's an innate reaction, that can be overcome with discipline. I purposely never put my hands on my hips or hold myself up with my hands on my knees so that the guy assigned to me gets the message that I'm in way better shape than he is.

"90% of the game is physical and the other half is mental" - Yogi Berra

IDK the exact quote but it was something hilarious like that.

The Committee dropped Georgia 10 spots in Rankings after losing to Mississippi.

The loser of the Tennessee vs Georgia game will be buried in the rankings by the Committee so the thoughts of a 5th SEC dwindles away. Let's hope and Pray it's the Dawgs..
They did get out scored 28-3 after they went ahead 7-0 off the Dart pick. I thought Miami would be ranked behind them but Georgia is ranked right about where I thought they would be. The biggest surprise was the BYU, Indiana, and Tennessee rankings. Everything else was about right.

Itā€™s almost like the committee caved to the public. All these talking heads saying BYU and Indiana werenā€™t getting respect. Well, here we are making BYU a top 5 team. Usually the football gods have a way of smiting those decisions. Kansas just took Kansas State down to the last possession and beat Iowa State so donā€™t overlook that team possibly beating a very suspect BYU. And we all know whatā€™s about to be coming Indianaā€™s way. A WWE smackdown off the top rope.

The old Mike Tyson is coming out. Love to see it. Never been a more intimidating person in sports imo.

I saw on ESPN a show that was about the selections for post season. I believe it will be a weekly show until the final selections are made. On that show, it lists UGA as "first team out"; meaning: UGA is currently 13th and not in the Top 12.

The show has Tenn listed as 7th? I'm not sure about that because I only caught a glimpse of the bracket and I'm guessing they talked about the placement of each team, so the last school they discussed was UGA and them not being in the Top 12, but maybe, depending on who beats who in the rest of the regular season, UGA could make it's way back into the top 12, but if UGA loses to Tenn, UGA has no chance other than winning the SEC championship, which, IMO they won't do.

Nikola Jokic might do something that hasnā€™t been done since Wilt Chamberlain: lead the league in points, assists, and rebounds for an entire season. To my knowledge Wilt is the only player to accomplish this. The one caveat is the NBA determines those categories leaders on a per game basis, not totals. Wilt did not win the assists title but had more total. I donā€™t think anyone has ever lead all three categories on a per game basis and claimed all three titles. Currently Jokic is:

4th in pts: 29.7 (Anthony Davis is 1st at 31.2)

1st in ast: 11.7

1st in reb: 13.7

If Georgia loses to us they would be eliminated from the SEC Championship with three conference losses. Heather Dinich comes off as a dumbass for even bringing up a 3 loss Georgia in the playoff. She keeps saying ā€œwell in every year of the rankings there has been a 3 loss team in the top 10ā€. Well Heather, that was before the SEC was about to have like 5 teams at 10-2 or better. Itā€™s never happened like this before.
