Another argument for the rankings.
I hope Indiana smokes OSU, and gives them a second L.
I hope it’s the other way around. Just in case we slip up because they are closer to us in the rankings. They would probably drop Ohio State no worse than 5th and claim “they lost to the two best teams in the country”. Whereas if Indiana loses handily with their SOS they could plummet straight out of the playoff. They dropped Miami from 4th to 9th and Miami has a better SOS. I could see Indiana going all the way to first team out and no way to get quality wins the rest of the way.

If strength of schedule ranked higher than the committee’s bias, then BYU and Indiana would not be ranked above Tennessee.
Tennessee has to win out or they will be left out…

I told you earlier in the day that that was going to be the outcome, but you didn’t believe it. Too many people said it before the fight happened that it was a stage show. Now you believe it???🤔😆
It was a dance off from the start of them announcing the fight. Paul got $40M and Tyson got $20M. Easiest payday they will ever have. Tyson averaged anywhere between $5-7M per fight over his 56 fight career and just made 3-4 times that much for a stage show. Any one of us would have taken the same deal.

Not faulting Mike at all. But if the mouth breathers refuse to watch the fairy tale, there is no money to pay either. Turn off the TV, and say enough is enough.

They caved to public commentary. All they need is a reason to drop them. A loss for either of those teams is going to make them plummet. Outside of Boise State, Notre Dame, and Texas, BYU has the softest SOS and Indiana has the softest by a country mile. Also, if SMU slips up coupled with a BYU loss would be horrible for them too. Boise State will be ahead of them whenever it’s all said and done.

Goodness, I wish I knew all it took was beating a bunch of Mississippi State/Auburn caliber teams to get a 8 year, $8M/yr extension. Must be nice.

They will regret that decision.

Except last years results don’t mean that next year is guaranteed. Who guessed Vandy would be where they are…

Another take from a talking head.

Indiana just put over a $1 million dollars to upgrade the Strength and Conditioning program per request of the HC. With the NIL money Indiana will be competitive from here on out. Transfer portal is the equalizer now in College Football.
An 8 year extension based on the results of an incomplete season.
This is the best season in Indiana history, but that’s not a smart move IMO. Do it next year or the third year and we’ll talk. If other schools come sniffing, we’ll talk, not based on the results of one season though.

Nobody is going to beat the doors down to play at Indiana. Just like Vanderbilt. Nobody really wants to play there. You think Pavia would stay at Vandy if he had another year of eligibility? Not a chance. Those are stepping stone programs. They are all excited about what is probably going to end up a 6-6 season. It’s always just a flash in the pan with these types of programs. NIL will allow them to get the rejects and some ok players from Group of 5 schools but other than that they aren’t going to be getting a bunch of 5 star game changers.
