Gonna be interesting to see how they sort through seeding tomorrow. Seeds 5-8 are going to be a hot topic of debate because Ohio State has a head to head over Penn State on the road, Texas’s only losses were to Georgia, Notre Dame overcame their horrible NIU loss. Penn State has the weakest argument of the bunch. You could really rank those teams anywhere in that group other than bumping Ohio State more than one spot, but I have no idea what they will value more.
As we all know, Alabama was destined to make this playoff. The committee just needed an excuse to put them in and now they have it. As for Tennessee, the Oregon-Penn State game started off well for us but they were too competitive for us to get a hosting spot. Ultimately, I still think we should be ranked ahead of both Ohio State and Penn State but what I think doesn’t matter. We have more of a gripe over Penn State than Ohio State, because Penn State’s best win is #21 Illinois while we have the #11 Alabama win. They may even decide to leave Penn State ahead of Ohio State due to Indiana being ranked 10th and not wanting a first round rematch from the regular season. Anyways, I think it will look something like this:
Oregon
Georgia
Boise State
Arizona State
Texas
Notre Dame
Ohio State
Penn State
Tennessee
Indiana
Alabama
Clemson
