Growing up in the 50s & 60s was a lot better. 🤟
I think we had a 13 inch B&W TV set that could
get only 4 channels & one of those was PBS. The
TV antenna set outside up on the roof.
I remember UHF and VHF and in Knoxville we had 6, 10 and 26.
When Fox 43 came to town, it was like heaven!
I can still remember the first day me and my dad watched it.
We watched He-Man after school and that was one of the greatest days of my life.

...and channel 2 in Sneedville, but it was a little snowy on the picture. Had to go out and turn the antenna.

On Saturday mornings we had hours of cartoons. Then it was
Roy Rogers westerns. Then it was Tarzan movies until the horror
movies started at 6 pm CT. And somewhere in between all of that
there was Studio Wrestling that came on for an hours & half.
Gumby at 6am, then Johnny Quest (the best cartoon ever) at 7am.

I remember the 6, 10 26 days. Didn’t we have a PBS one?

It was like he was gliding when running through the line of scrimmage.
He had a 99 yard TD run (1983) against the Vikings on MNF.
Most beautiful run I ever witnessed on TV.

Emmitt's looking back waving at Giants defenders hold a special place also.

I hate the damn Giants...

We were poor when I was young.
That TV dinner and a pack of Lik M Aid (we couldn’t even afford kool aid) in front of a little black and white tv, was like a fine dinner and a show to little cobbwebb.
I miss those simple times tbh.
Used a outside Antenna turned one direction watched ABC (Channel 6) and CBS (channel 10)

When we wanted to watch NBC (channel 5) and Fox ( channel 11) had to turn the antenna in opposite direction . PBS came in loud and clear Sesame Street, Electric Company and Mister Rogers Neighborhood..

Dinner was scarce but we didn't give a damn Soup Beans and Cornbread was a Filet Mignon Dinner in the 70's and early 80's.

I've told my kids and grandkids they would've went bat **** crazy years ago without electronics and internet. We played OUTSIDE not video games.🤣🤣

Who watched Mighty Mouse cartoons? The Huckleberry Hound cartoons?

So many more to list that this page can't hold them all.
I liked Mighty Mouse but mine were probably the newer versions.
I watch some really old school cartoons with my 5 year old now, and some of them are really edgy!
It’s like Fred Sanford in cartoon form!😂

Jeez, you guys are bringing back a ton of great memories.
In kindergarten the highlight of my young life, was watching the Electric Company and learning and making the “letter people!”
Did you guys do the letter people?
It was like Mr A or Mrs G, and you would glue macaroni and glitter on them.
I was always so proud of my letter people.
Mrs Hudson would string them along the classroom with clothespins.
God rest her soul, she was the sweetest, most loving and kind woman and made the introduction to school, a lot easier for a lot of kids at Lincoln Park elementary school!

My go-to was Underdog. He had that energy pill in his ring. I still tell my grandkids that the red M&Ms are mine (just for that reason). During Underdog, they had Tennessee Tuxedo.

You're almost certainly correct. I hope our low-information nega-fans don't absolutely freak out if we lose a game, much less several. 5 losses (maybe 6?) might win the SEC with the way the talent is stacked stem to stern. I still want to win every game! We had that crowd that would pile into the baseball game threads and "Chicken Little" every time we lost a baseball game last year on the way to winning the whole damn thing. We just sucked, remember?
Insufferable vocal nega Vols VFNs (Vols for Now) jokers who shouldn’t call themselves fans. They only show up like roaches in the dark!
