But can we honestly agree ...PETE ROSE...is due in hall of fame...long overdue
I felt the same way until I spoke with a Scout who was good friends with Faye Vincent. He told me things about Rose that made me sick to my stomach. And I’m NOT even talking about his gambling. He’s a sick person who should never grace the Halls of Cooperstown.

Pete Rose accused of statutory rape in court document

1. The bowl game was one of the few games last year where UT had better talent. Purdue’s 3 good players were out. This situation should never be left to the refs.
2. Other teams have players go cold. It happens every tournament with UT. Somehow other schools can get to more than one sweet 16, even without a HOF coach. A trend isn’t a single game fluke.
3. What happened game 1? Bad calls? UT was a lot better than that ND team (or any other team in the field). They played sloppy in the regionals and supers for whatever reason (curse?). Amazing season nonetheless, can’t take anything away from game 1 all the way to the SEC tourney.
You can nominate yourself the train conductor and have fun with that, it’s just weird we experience so much post-season fluky failures that others don’t.
Go pay for an exeorsism if that's all you got. ND played better than we did game one. Its that simple and not hard to comprehend. The best team does not always win.

MLB Mock Draft 2.0: Druw Jones goes No. 1 to Orioles in Keith Law's latest projection

Jordan Beck now listed as the only Tennessee 1st-Rounder at 21 to the Mariners. Still holding out hope that he'll fall to 24 with the Red Sox. We've been linked to strictly college OF for the past month. I reaaaaaaally want us to take Beck or Gilbert.
Latest Baseball America draft rankings:

Gilbert 21
Tidwell 28
Beck 32
Joyce 83
Lipscomb 137
Lawson 320
McLaughlin 442
Lipcius 466

Notable not in the top 500: Ortega and Stephenson

Yeah, I think this draft class is kind of all over the place. I'm not seeing a lot of consistency. I think it is considered a weaker class, which is why so many college players have been mocked in the first round. I know the Red Sox are going to take a college OF, and I am praying it is a Tennessee Vol. I won't hold my breath too much though. Lots of teams looking for college bats in the 20-30 range.

I think the issue with both Ortega and Stephenson...where do you play them in MLB?

Both would benefit from another year of Tony coaching them up on the defense.

Right now, Ortega is a first baseman lacking average MLB power for the position.
Seth is a left fielder also lacking power.

After the draft, would love to have Sewell back as our right hander closer. A team batting nine right handers, like Notre Dame showed that we could have used one more 95+ mph right hander from bullpen. And, probably losing Joyce and McLaughlin adds to the gap.

I can tell you that Ortega IS on several clubs list. Confirmed.
Also, confirmed, Stephenson is not on any clubs list that I know of. Emphasis on, "that I know of." Only takes one club to draft you, but I don't see that happening for Seth this year. I've been wrong before.

And why is that?

The TV coverage for those teams aren't shown down here very much if at all.
Seattle is way out yonder on the West Coast. I don't care about them at all. I couldn't name one player that's on the Seattle team bc of the lack of TV coverage. Boston is way up in the cold North part of the country & I don't care about them either. Jmo ... nothing else..
After the TN players are through w/the minor leagues, by then, I've probably lost interest in them.

A great Tennessee Volunteer in a Boston uniform presents quite the conundrum for me. But, it could be worse - could be a Yankees uniform.
