Going forward, we are fine. Seeding was another Factor as well and our regional opponents were quality teams.Yeah, plus we had some tense moments to deal with in the tourney. I think with our history in the tournament, we had to go for it and get one, but I don’t think it will be so important heading forward…
By the transitive property and Danny White’s theory we would be national champions because we would’ve gone 4-0 vs the two finalists, all on the road/neutral.This is something I never thought I’d say, but I’d be ok with OU or Ole Miss. Strangely, would feel like I’d be ok with a team we obliterated winning it.
Last year Arkansas complained that winning the SEC Tournament and Regular Season was their downfall.I still think the Vacation Ole Miss, Arkansas, Auburn and Texas A&M took between the SEC tourney and the NCAA Regionals is a big factor... Ole Miss is a completely different team and at one point I thought they were not going to make the tourney.
They did as a 4th Seed in an Average Regional.
Arm Rest, Batting Practice, and able to play loose....Sad but true, but nobody is going to tell that the Rest did not provide those teams with a solid period of recovery and prep for the NCAA Tourney.
I mentioned this a while back and felt it would be a factor... Two of those teams had 10+ days, the other two had 8 & 7 Days I do believe.
I can see them just as easily getting the top seed and not making it again. Lineup will be loaded but TN post-seasons are TN post-seasons. We’ve got the best coaches we can hope for in all 3 major sports and we saw UT football lose to a Purdue team who spotted them their only 3 good players, Barnes continued his 1st weekend streak, and the best, most dominant team in modern UT sports is watching Omaha from the couch. Curse>UT talent and coaching. It will happen next year. I’ve just got a feeling Tony has this program on a perfect spot. They will take losing in the supers pretty hard and work like heck to make sure that doesn’t happen again. I say we have a top 4 SEC program next season and make another run to Omaha. I believe it will happen.
Bet you are a blast at parties tooI can see them just as easily getting the top seed and not making it again. Lineup will be loaded but TN post-seasons are TN post-seasons. 1. The bowl game was one of the few games last year where UT had better talent. Purdue’s 3 good players were out. This situation should never be left to the refs.Oh boy, another one of those folks who believe in curses.
1. The football game against Purdue came down to a ref with a premature whistle. No curse there.
2. The basketball game was one in which Vescovi was basically non existent in the game and we were getting our best minutes inside from Uros.
3. The baseball team went up a every good and highly motivated team in the supers. It happens. They were on the ropes in game 3 and a blown strike call that would have been out three was not ca!lled. Next pitch, yard. Next batter, yard. It happens and it nothing to do with a freaking curse. Go look for so cheese to go with that lame awesome you got going on. If you can't see that better days are ahead, then maybe you just aint Tennessee enough to ride this train.
Here’s a question: Why are you a fan? Seriously, why do you watch or pay any attention to what happens if you expect the worst? The basketball team won its first SECT in 43 years and the baseball team won for the first time in 27 years. Doesn’t sound like a curse to me. If there was one, it is clearly broken. I see you just joined on May 6th, so maybe you are just another Arkansas or LSU troll???I can see them just as easily getting the top seed and not making it again. I’m down with that, but mostly I’m 100% obligated to go against A&M, ND, and Arky (particularly in baseball for the latter). I’m also vehemently opposed to OU, but I think I can talk myself into accepting it. I’m slightly less vehemently opposed to Ole Miss, and think I can get there as well.
My hope is that Ole Miss will close out this game as a winner. Arkansas will play and beat Auburn. Arkansas will play and beat Ole Miss. Then Ole Miss will win the last game but use all their arms up. Then Oklahoma will beat Texas A&M and rest while the others play.Swain said today he'd rather see Arkansas win this game... NO. All Tennessee fans should prefer Ole Miss over Arky imo
Hell, our fans are annoying too!My hope is that Ole Miss will close out this game as a winner. Arkansas will play and beat Auburn. Arkansas will play and beat Ole Miss. Then Ole Miss will win the last game but use all their arms up. Then Oklahoma will beat Texas A&M and rest while the others play.
But if Texas A&M wins I'm okay with it. I have a lot of A&M friends that are great people. Their disdain for Texas and Alabama is strong. But, their baseball fans are annoying at games. But so are most everyone's.
