He won't need to do much unless tannenhill breaks his arm in warmup.

Sadly, I did not; I went with Arizona (who had an INT TD so at least got some points there) so I could gauge through the noon games which of all those receivers to keep.

I'm glad I did, though, because one of the receivers you said I should drop for the STL defense was Stills. :p

Lol i dropped Stills for Landry, i wouldn't have started either one but im now trying to get Stills back.

Yeah. I can't use waiver order on a player I dropped, unfortunately.

(That's how I lost Torrey Smith during his bye week; still kicking myself over that one.)

Easily the most tilting day in my 6 year fantasy sports career; first in football. Please bear with me as I whine. I have no where else to turn as my wife doesn't care to hear it and I'm pretty sure the dog thinks I'm dumb.

$100 buy in, 12 teams, PPR league. Payouts are $100 for #1 seed, $100 for top scorer, $600 for league champ, $300 for 2nd, $100 for 3rd.

I led my league in record and total points 10 out of 12 weeks going into this week. I lost last week to make week 13 extremely important. I had a 9-3 record along with the 2nd place team, whom I held the tie breaker with. The 3rd place team held the tie breaker vs me and was 8-4.

No worries, I was facing the lowest scoring team who was also tied for worst record in the league. I was projected as a 48 point favorite going into Thursday.

Well, Thursday he has Calvin Johnson who blew up for 37 and Butt Fumble went for 22. Ouch...ok, no big deal. Then today Tre Mason goes for 36. No worries, he left McKinnon in the lineup and he was out today. Plus he had the Packers D vs the Patriots. I should still be able to pull it out.

At half time of the Packers vs Pats game I was projected to get 172 points. That would give me a smooth victory this week to earn #1 seed. It also would have given me a 68 point lead for top scorer when I needed 39 points to win and he only had E. Sanders left to play.

As that game winded down Rodgers and Cobb hadn't done much. If the Pats score 1 more point the GB Def gets -5 fantasy points. On comes Gostkowski, my kicker, for a 47 yard FG.

He misses the FG...just his 2nd miss of the season. So instead of 6 total points for him I end up with 0, and the Packers D goes from what should have been 5 total points to 12. So a 13 point swing right there.

I end that game with 147 points to his 142. I have 0 players left and he has Kelce vs the Broncos. I was still 5 points ahead for top scorer too.

At this point I'm thinking it's inevitable. See ya #1 seed. Later top scorer.

I see the top scorer title quickly go in the 2nd quarter. But Kelce hadn't done much. I sweated the game all the way into the 4th thinking no way I could hang on, but I still had hope.

Up 2 points with 4:37 left in the 4th quarter Kelce makes a catch for 9 yards; giving him 6 points for the game. That would be his last reception of the night, giving my opponent a 1 point lead and the victory.

To add insult to injury I learned today that in this league our D/ST are hit even if their team's offense turns the ball over and the opposing D scores a TD. For example, Team 1 is my D/ST. Team 1 offense fumbles, Team 2 D recovers and scores a TD. It hits Team 1 D/ST (in my league) for -5 points. Thanks Larry Donnell.
EDIT: LOL, just realized Jax scored TWO Defensive TDs. I had NYG D, and that cost me 15 points. Insane. Is this sort of scoring standard in most fantasy leagues?

This was almost as bad as watching us vs UF the past few years.

Heh, one of my RB was credited with 2 more yards, giving him 40, adding 1 more fantasy point and a giving me tie for this week. So it looks like I'll still get the #1 seed. :)

I guess the odd D/ST scoring is an ESPN thing; says my commish. I don't understand why they would penalize the D when the score came against the offense.

Yeah, I know Yahoo doesn't do that. One more reason not to switch over I guess.

Oh and I have Landry on a bench too, may be playing for a starting spot next week.

So I need Wallace and Miller to score 43, not gonna happen.

I need Sturgis to score 14 while the Dolphins D gets zero, doubtful.

I need Sturgis to outscore the Dolphins D, toss up.

I need Sturgis to score 3 points, should happen.

How the hell did I end up relying on the Dolphins so much? Lol

What do you guys think?

Go ahead and pick up Fleener in case Julius Thomas is out for the week?

Or use that space to go ahead and get the Seattle or St. Louis defense for next week?

Which defense do you guys think is better for down the road?

SEA is getting health again and - while they do have to go to Philly next week - they get San Francisco again week 15 followed by Arizona.

STL plays at WAS next week, followed by Arizona in week 15 and plays the Giants week 16.

Yeah I've pretty much clinched the #2/#3 seed (I could fall to 4...but it would take the current #4 team absolutely going off).


I could play this next opponent two weeks in a row. (Though I might be able to do the whole "try to pick who I play" thing.)

My main concern, though, is making sure I don't get matched up against the currently #5 team if he makes it into the playoff field.

I imagine you would ride D. Murray and CJ Anderson through the playoffs, right? Id drop L. Murray and Bailey or Moncrief to get those 2 defenses. Jmo of course.
