It's playoff time.

So here's the current situation I'm in, and I’d like some input (sorry it's lengthy, but I appreciate the help):

I’m in 2nd at 9-4 (no shot at #1, but can end up as any other seed). I play the 3rd place 8-5 team, and have a 16 point lead thanks to DeMarco Murray. (I’m currently projected to win without a kicker.)

The remaining playoff eligible teams are my opponent (I’ll call him team A), another 8-5 team (team B), and a 7-6 team (Team C).

---------

At the moment, Team B is 4th and projected to lose (lowered 11pt to 93).

Meanwhile, Team C is projected to demolish his opponent (near 126 pt):

————

Our tiebreaker is points scored…Team C leads almost everyone here. If things go as projected, all three of those teams would have 6 losses… with Team C now 3rd (& Team B out of playoffs).

I’m going to be honest, it's not a team I want to play next week (my projections don't match). Save a surprising score of 83 when we played, 8 of his last 9 games it scored 137, 116, 102, 152, 123, 119, 130, and 123.

Probably in my best interest not to have to play him first round (week 15 is going to be my tougher week; week 16 has me projected at 100 pt without Def and Kicker).

If I lose this week, Team A and I have the same record, flip seeds, and play each other again.

However...I’m also only ahead of Team B by 29 total points (what I get for not playing a kicker that one week). If I throw this game but he wins and scores enough, I’m now 4th and playing the top team…a 2 loss team that leads the league in scoring…I’d be better avoiding him and Team C till week 16 (actually, it'd be great if they played each other).

———

I also noticed Team B (save Maclin) all play at noon. Similar with Team C (save Manning at 4 and GB; his opponent Ryan, Nelson, Vereen play later)

A lot on my roster start later. (LaFell 8:30, CJ Anderson & Julius Thomas 4:05, Jordan Matthews 4:25, Latavius Murray 4:25…I can also get another, late DEF and had planned on using Crosby who plays Mon)…the only for certain noon players would be QB and a WR out of Beckham/Stills/Martavis/Andre Johnson/Moncrief/Stedman.

How would you guys advise?

Here’s Team A’s roster:

Here’s his roster: QB - Aaron Rodgers; WRs - Mike Evans, Julian Edelman, Golden Tate; RBs - Lesean McCoy, Matt Forte (had 16 points); TE - Travis Kelce; K - Nick Novak; SF D
Bench: Philip Rivers, Isaiah Crowell, Vernon Davis; WRs - John Brown (ARI), Markus Wheaton, James Jones.

At the moment, Team B is 4th and projected to lose (lowered 11pt to 93). His team:

QB - Drew Brees; RBs - Joique Bell, Trent Richardson; WRs - Maclin, Antonio Brown, and Brandon Marshall (5 puts less than projection); TEs - Witten (only got 2 1/2 pts); K - Shaun Suisham; NYG D.
Bench: RB - Andre Williams; WRs - Reggie Wayne, Hakeem Nicks; TE - Charles Clay; QB - Roethlisberger; K - Vinatieri

And his opponent (projected 100 pt):

QBs - Wilson/Newton; WRs - 3 of Vincent Jackson/Randle/Cobb/Torrey Smith; RBs - Bell and Fred Jackson/Steven Jackson; TE - Jimmy Graham; K- Parkey; STL D.

Meanwhile, Team C is projected to demolish his opponent (near 126 pt):

QB - Manning; RBs - Foster and Forsett/Mason; WRs - A.J. Green, Alshon Jeffery (15 1/2 pts), K. Benjamin; TE - Walker/Gates; K - Bailey (11 pt), GB DEF

His opponent's projected at 99:

QB - Matt Ryan; RBs - Hill and Vereen/Ivory; WRs - Calvin Johnson, Jordy Nelson, Hilton/Roddy White; TE - Rudolph; K - Tucker (BAL); KC Def.

Sorry, had to get that part out of the way.

(Edit: I could also do something bizarre like pick up BUF's MarQueis Gray - who's listed as RB/TE on yahoo - and play him at RB.)

I read most of it, you're basically wondering if you should stock up on late players to either throw or win the game? Id play to won, leave that bad mojo alone.

Lol, never say you just read most of something.

(Also, I shortened it. I just had the other team's rosters in there possibly for matchup purposes...as well as I possibly overlooked one that probably would go opposite the projections.)

I'm wondering if I should throw the game for the better playoff matchup. (Those late players are all guys I pretty much have - save Sanchez; it's nothing about stocking up on late players)

My matchups are much better in week 16 to be playing the #1 or likely to be #4 seed (especially the latter) in that week versus next week (their rosters are much better than the guy I play this week, and week 15 does me no favors to begin with).

The problem is that I'm still so close to the 4th team's score that if I just take a knee, I risk getting stuck against the #1 seed if he pulls off the unlikely victory.

Lol i think that's pretty much what i asked isn't it? I think my man Herm has some advice for you.

Teams do this all the time in real life though, so it's a pretty legitimate way of thinking.

UCLA against Stanford a few years back in CFB.

The Grizzlies did it because they felt they matched up better to one playoff opponent than another (and they won their series).

And NFL teams have done it plenty.

Does it ever help them win the championship? Lol

I dropped my defense and picked up Minnesota two days ago. Didn't imagine it'd work out as well as it has.

I started Romo and Murray on Thursday, and benched Cam for obvious reasons. Then Cam goes out and has this kind of first half.

Of course, with my defense outscoring Andrew Luck by itself, can't really complain.
