The Facebook Factor

I set up a Twitter account and followed everyone I could UT related just for this coaching search. Its became pretty addictive.

I had a Twitter account that I setup like 5 years ago, but just recently reset the password because I forgot what it was and now I constantly switch back from there to VN all day. I need this to be over soon.

Side note... Twitter is good for whenever news breaks and VN's servers crash. Also it's fun to read the comments on Hyams posts.

Here lately, I have been afflicted with The FaceBook Factor. This is a condition where one engages in constant checks for new posts, likes and dislikes.

Over the last several months, I find myself getting to work and checking VolNation (8-10 times daily) for any positive news on a new coach, only to be disappointed.

I find myself getting up at 4:30 a.m. and checking VolNation for news of a new coach, only to be disappointed.

This is an addictive disordered that results in anxiety, nervousness, lack of sleep and a general feeling of helplessness.

Am I the only one?

Hi, my name is Justin, and I'm addicted to the coaching search. My work productivity has declined. I am currently working on an MBA from a great business school, that work has declined. I am willing to go through the 12 step process.

1. I admit I am powerless over a coaching search that has become unmanageable.
2. I have came to believe that a Power greater than Currie could restore us to sanity.
3. I have made a decision to turn my will and my life over to the care of Volnation and let them care for me.
4. I have made a moral inventory of myself and all the people that are turning us down.
5. I have admitted to Volnation, to myself and to another human beings the exact nature of my wrongs.
6. I am entirely ready to have Fulmer remove all these defects
7. I humbly ask Him to remove our shortcoming of Currie
8. I've made a list of persons I have harmed, and became willing to make amends to most of them all. Including the Alabama and Florida fans I know, but not Georgia ones, I am not that far along in the process yet living in Atlanta.
9. I have made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others which is why I can't talk to Georgia fans yet.
10. Continued to take personal inventory and when I am wrong promptly admitted it. I was ok with Schiano. I have no admitted a wrong.
11. I have sought through prayer and meditation to improve my conscious contact with Fulmer
12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of this coaching search,I will try to carry this message to Coaching Search addicts and to practice these principles in all my affairs.

The interaction between phone/media addiction and attention deficit are heavily studied, because, obviously everybody is guilty on some level. I don't use twitter, that's where I drew the line.

They actually gave this a name 10 or 15 years ago, but it did not stick.
