The Fall Camp Thread

Me too! And what are we to do with our qbs! I know we just talkin bout practice, but I'm genuinely getting concerned.

I'm not concerned. Right now the coaches are trying to get the qbs to elevate their game, so they are exaggerating their struggles. As game day approaches, the coaches will want to prop up their confidence so we will hear better reports. The reality is surely somewhere in between, which hopefully produces a minimum of 6 wins.

My thinking too. Coach speak. Of course they are not as accurate as the coaches want them to be. Pretty sure every coach wants every QB to hit every pass.

In another week or so, as it gets closer to game day, we'll start hearing better things.

Are the QB struggles based on the coaches's comments or reports made from outsiders/media who have observed practice the past few days?

I could be mistaken, but I've only heard it from the coaches. Swain said Worley was throwing it good early in camp.

Sometimes I think it would be better to just name Worley the starter so he can take on the role of the starting QB and up his confidence level. Sometimes.

Is it worth this intangible judgment that he hasn't earned it vs. building him up mentally as the leader of the offense?

I think the coaches are taking a military approach with the quarterbacks. Just like boot camp you break them down then build them back up again. Who knows they could be taking a page from The General himself.

It turns out in football you've got to start a QB regardless of whether or not someone has "earned" it.
