Can't make money even when they're charging 20% more?
Their last quarter was the 2nd most profitable in the last 5 years at 7.8%, falling just .5% short of the 2nd quarter of 2017, which was 8.3%. Their is a glut of steel on the market now with Chinese overproduction and a weakening demand in China. Steel prices fluctuate like gasoline. It will come back at some point. It is trading at a very low P/E and oversold right now.

This would probably be even more moronic than UK leaving the EU.

Why would exiting the WTO be moronic? The US is the dominant economic (and military) force in the world. The WTO was established when communism was the biggest concern of the US and pretty much any member was given an equal say in world economic affairs. The US is better off bailing and establishing bilateral trade agreements with all of the individual economic powers.

Trump wants to use secondary sanctions against the countries that won't cooperate with sanctions placed on Iran. The WTO obstructs that strategy.

The UK needs to exit the EU. That thing is a bureaucratic mess.

On the newsfeed this morning China retail growth decelerated to 8.1%. The weakest point since 2003. And China indeed has removed the tariffs imposed in July on US auto imports, at least for now.

Sounds like they're taking Crazy Donald seriously. They have to. He could crash their economy in many different ways.

You must be a journalist. Showing a tweet someone posted does not make it news worthy. Yes China stumbling is probably because we aren't giving them as much free capital as we once were.
China is a thief and an unfair trade partner and needs to be dealt with. Fortunatley we finally have a President that will do that instead of just kicking the problem down to the next President.

There are multiple reasons why China could go boom. The point is, as the market reminded us today, that it would be bad news for everyone if it did.

P.S. Have you forgotten about all the cheap capital China has given the US via treasury bill sales?

So after paying for living expenses I wonder how much the average Chinese has left to pay for our goods with their median $20k salaries. And let’s not forget all of the people in the mid America’s and Africa we could be selling stuff to also! 😂😂😂

Here's a discussion on how the WTO can/should deal with China.

It's a bit dry. Maybe I'll find a better one.

Chinese Spacecraft blasts off in bid to be the first to Land on the dark side of the Moon (and show it can keep up with the US)

China is today sending a probe to uncharted territory on the dark side of the moon.

Chang'e-4 will target our natural satellites South Pole-Aitken basin's Von Karman crater, the largest in the entire solar system at 15,000 miles (24,000km) across and eight miles deep.

It took off from the Xichang satellite launch centre in Sichuan, south-west China at 6:30 GMT, with the launch declared a success.

It will take Chang'e 4 about three days to travel to the moon, where it will spend about three weeks in orbit.
It is expected to perform a 'soft-landing' and land on the moon after a 27 day journey through space.

Exploring the huge divot on the surface of the moon may shed new light on its history and geology by collecting rocks that have never been seen before.

Chang'e-4 has been described as 'hugely ambitious' and heralded as a sign of China's growing intentions to rival the space exploration prowess of the US, Russia and the EU.

Trade deficits are offset by capital surpluses. Do you even know this, or is this news to you?

1,000 acres of farmland, eminent domain, and $4.5B in tax breaks and subsidies, and again, they need to bring in immigrants to fill these jobs. This is a boondoggle. You will see. It's such a great deal, the city officials had to keep everything a secret from the people.

Immigrants or illegal aliens? You’re always conflating the two and they’re entirely different people.
