We are not going to fix this problem. It's a stupid political maneuver that will get us no further than maybe lip service
I can see there being difficulties in preventing this, so I am curious to see what if any measures are in place. I would feel more optimistic if they would deny access to Chinese nationals in our research institutions and labs. I would imagine this theft is physical US based, US partnership companies in China based, or hacking.
We'll make them buy the soybeans that the were prior to this starting, though, so there's that. #Winning
Not necessarily. 300k is only 0.2% of the full-time workforce, so unemployment would only have to improve by 0.3% elsewhere to obscure these completely avoidable, stupid, nanny-state, politically-motivated losses.
Didn't you jump all over me the other day for using what looked impressive but was in fact negligible? I realized the graph was sensationalist when I mentioned it, but you know these numbers are, too. There's pain when applying tariffs, but there's also pain when allowing another country to manipulate trade and eat your lunch. Sometimes you have to swallow the medicine and quit being the world's patsy.
