The Foreign Trade Thread

Is Trump's pressure on Nancy forcing her to come to her senses on trade.
Historic USMCA deal is much better than NAFTA: Pelosi
The United States, Mexico and Canada have reached a historic trade deal.
"There is no question, of course, that this trade agreement is much better than NAFTA," House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said at a press conference announcing her caucus's support of the agreement. Major U.S. stock indexes turned positive after the announcement.
U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, Senior White House Adviser Jared Kushner and Canadian Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland are expected to be in Mexico City on Tuesday for a signing ceremony.
The deal must now be ratified by all three countries. A House vote, delayed as Democrats fought to improve enforcement mechanisms after winning a majority in the chamber in November 2018, is slated for next week. The modifications had delayed Congressional approval, raising the possibility that the deal might not be ratified this year since Congress adjourns Dec. 20, and prompted criticism from President Trump and his allies.

They can't all be at the bottom.

With globalization having a strong currency is almost the exact opposite of having a strong currency pre world trade if you are strong in manufacturing.

It doesn’t really apply to skilled labor but it heavily drives unskilled labor.

So we now have more favorable terms with South Korea, Japan, Mexico, and Canada. The UK won't be far behind now that they're bailing out of that globalist cluster f***.

Who should we get in the bilateral free trade agreement club now? Should we kick back and focus on growing capitalism with these players for a while or work on growing the list? If the UK's economy takes off perhaps Germany, France, and Italy will want to join the freedom alliance.

Let's hope that Iran's people can push their overlords to stop being d**ks and join the civilized ranks.

BTW, fk China. Fk Russia.

Kumbaya mofos!

The freedom alliance that doesn't practice free trade.

Those that don't open their markets or offer something else for access to the US consumers will be left out. I'm glad that our negotiators aren't pu**ies like the previous, weak administration.

BTW, the UK is now our beyatch. Breaking away from the EU ramps up their dependence on the US consumer for their economy to thrive. They'll have to step up their defense spending or else they'll lose that access. Aircraft carriers anyone?

Free trade is the offer. Those that don't play along will have retaliatory tariffs on their exports to the US. Hear that Canada? No more protecting their markets while taking advantage of ours. The western provinces probably would rather be US states anyway instead of being ruled by the Frenchy confederation to the east. That sissy PM better think through what kind of s*** he might try to pull. They'll get left behind same as the road that socialist France is on if they don't play nice.
