And the Yankees refused to include him in the trade for Bobby Abreu when Pat Gillick said that the trade hinged on his inclusion.

What makes you think that Tabata will make up that much ground on Bruce?
Is it the part where Bruce has more HRs that Tabata has doubles and only 1 less HR than Tabata has XBHs? Or is it the part where he had an OPS 200 points Higher than Tabata against the same competition (300 points higher so far in AA)?

Easy big fella. Tabata is only 18, and as his measurables show, he is only 180lbs, give him a year of the same strength and conditioning in the US that Bruce has had since high school. I'm thinking that Tabata's experience in Venezuela didn't include the best preparation for the bigs in the world.

Tebata is goint to be a really good player, but Bruce is going to be a monster. In a couple of years when Bruce gets stronger some of those 34 doubles he has are going to go over the fence. Its kind of hard to argue against Jay Bruce's stats. The only guy that has any chance at all in the minors is Upton and Bruce's are a little better.

I won't deny Bruce can hit for power, but the more I read about Tabs, the more I like the speed he has displayed. That's something the Yankees need out of their replacement for Damon.

There are half a dozen guys a year like Tabata who are only 18, and whose power is "expected to develop." Projecting him at this point as the next Manny Ramirez is laughable.

Rasmus or B. Anderson done anything worthwhile?

If I am not mistaken, Anderson gunned down an attempted base stealer to complete the strike-em-out/throw-em-out. It was pretty impressive. He has a cannon.

I do remember that but couldn't think of who it was. If thats him, he has a cannon.

Neat-o. Thanks!

I finally read the article that vkb posted in his first post here and apparently he (Anderson) has the cannon which you mentioned and better offensive skills than Molina. Looks like one of them could be traded at some point.
