YeeeHaawwww

Went down to my surrogate green house before work to water my seeds. I now have seedlings. All my okra is up except for the Heavy Hitter. 8 of my 10 tomatos have emerged. None of my sweet peppers yet. But, i'm just hitting 14 days maybe. some tomatoes and peppers can hit 21 days even in a green house. Granted the green house has been a little cool and I did not put a secondary dome over them, but it will heat up today as the day progresses. I'm sure the remaining 4 cups are just days away.

Nearly all the tomato seedlings are up. Onions just emerged. Nothing else has been in long enough.

Sitting here on the porch and just got buzzed by a humming bird. Guess he's letting me know that it is time to put out a feeder. Seems a little early.

We are outside Cookeville n my wife thinks she saw one earlier this week! Hope so.....we really enjoy watching them. We've had around 15 at one time

My carpenter bee traps have captured 6 of this year’s hatchlings. Apparently, there were some who chewed their way out of one of the plugged holes where the putty had shrunk over the winter. I’ve found that almond oil discourages them from reentering a hole. I will plug these anew later this Spring.

Apparently, carpenter bees will nest in very dry ground, barring what they prefer. Had a hatch spring forth from the ground under an eave where the ground was mulched with chipped wood.

This is why I've not been in a hurry with my garden.

Yeah, I still have row cloth over the peas, potatoes, garlic, and shallots. I'll plant out onions this weekend, and lettuce and spinach in the next few weeks, but nothing else goes into the ground until the soil temp is at least 65 degrees.
