The Genius that is Mike Slive

....but he is. First he creates this new weird rule, seemingly because of Kiffin but he has a bigger plan and the perfect time to execute, then he get's Urban to break it almost instantly. Now people are going to think he has no favoritism towards Florida. Genius I tell you.
:eek:lol::eek:lol: I cannot believe there were Florida fans speculating that this would happen and it was all part of a plan to snare Kiffin. I have even read where they are saying that Urbie was being a martyr to take the nations eyes off of Spikes. Hilarious stuff!!!

In the reprimand letter to CLK and in the letter that went out to all coaches there was no and/or. It stated you would be suspended, the SEC office when confronted of this said it was a typo. I call BS and Slive is a weasel, If CLK would have said what CUM said, he would have been suspended.

If CLK gets Coach of the Year will Slive have to present the trophy? Now that would be priceless!

Not only did the letter say "AND", fricking Slive SAID "AND" in a phone interview with the Associated Press on October 30th as proven by this story: SEC Coaches Threatened with Fines And Suspensions - Central Florida News 13 (4th paragraph of story).

So, was it a TYPO and a MIS-STATEMENT? I don't think so, it was suppose to be "AND" and when Meyer got hit with it, it changed to "OR".

We've given this moron too much power to be discretionary in his punishments.

Two different letters. One was only to CLK. The second to all SEC coaches had the "or."

I have been unable to find a letter with the "or" in it, please provide the link

I haven't either but, it looks like the 'suspension and fines' comment was probably exclusive of one another.

There could be a fine; there could be a suspension; there could be a fine and suspension in one offering. It just depends on the circumstances and whether Lane is involved or not.

We all need to remember that Mike Slive is not only a SuperHero and a Genius, he's also crafty like a Fox.

I'm sure CLK is laughing right now because Urban got the fine and he didn't. Funny how things work.

I'm not so sure. Urban got a bunch more of junior's preferred "any pub is good pub" and Coach Meyer's salary is quite a bit more than junior's. Although, junior probably has quite a bit of Al Davis's cash in the bank.

My guess is Monte's kid is constructing a monster outburst in order grab the media's attention back. Looks like he's smart enough to carefully plan his next verbal assault to minimize the collateral damage that Slive might inflict. It should be a doozy.

Yeah but here's the thing. Lil' Wayne charges 100k to drop 16 bars in a rap song. He has said, " "I wouldn't do a song for my sister for less than $75,000."
Best MC: Lil Wayne : Rolling Stone

Lane paid zero to get mentioned a line in one song and now a couple of verses in another.

Meyer paid 30k to get reprimanded for criticizing refs. and sounded like a d*uche handling the Spikes incident.

Trying to be like Lane is funny and not his style.

The fact that you think that CLK has to plan what he is going to say is laughable. I'm pretty sure he knows what is going on and that he knows what to say.

P.S. The only publicity that Urban is getting is the negative variety. CLK is getting positive and negative publicity. Mostly positive, though.

I think pretty much everybody in the country outside of vol fans KNOWS lane is intentionally drawing any publicity he can to the program. Yes it is planned.

I think Urban could care less about the publicity he gets, he's too busy winning championships. You'd be a fool to think he didn't intentionally make those comments to take the heat off of Brandon Spikes, only a blind homer would deny it.

If Urban didn't care about the negative publicity, he would not have commented at all about Brandon Spikes' eye gouge and there would've been no suspension issued.

do wut?

I said Urban doesn't care about the publicity he gets, whether it be negative or positive. He commented on the late hit on Tebow, not the Brandon Spikes eye gouge, and he was fined not suspended. $30k amounts to less than 3 days pay for Urban Meyer, and it took 100% of the heat off his player who was and still is a first round draft pick.

@Tidal Surge - that's weak, throwing a tinfoil hat up trying to dismiss the issues with officiating by marginalizing it with a silly photo.

I disagree. Please read my post again, as my suspension quote was a reference to Spikes' suspension, not an Urban Meyer possible suspension.

Urban did also comment on Spikes in announcing Spikes' suspension, which, as I stated, would not have been handed down if Urban didn't care about the publicity that he generates.

Alabama - Penn State 1983, Don Guman. 'nuff said.

.

Wonder why this surge clown's refrain doesn't continually refer to serial cheating, which would seem to be more appropriate?

The quote of the day last Saturday: at the beginning of the Bama/LSU game Gary Danielson said that 'with the replay monitor down, whatever calls the refs make will have to hold up' (paraphrased).

So when it was fixed and working, they still blew the non-interception call. As Bill Hicks would say, "its irony on a base level. . . it's a hoot, its a a frickin hoot."
