The Georgia Postgame Report

Trae guarded him some as well, I can go back since its tivo'd and do a point breakdown if you'd like, with who was guarding him. Ware had 15, I'm guessing 12 were against skylar, which only leaves 3 for trae and josh, the sad thing is trae and josh guarded him a lot longer than mcbee.

I remember him hitting a 3 over stokes and also Trae getting beat on a bad close out in the first half. I would say 8 of his points came with mcbee on him. Purely guessing though

This was a must win game and they won. But it's pretty disturbing they had no offense for the match up zone. It looked like they had no idea how to attack it. If not for some circus shots falling for Golden this one might have been tough down the stretch.

Maymon is becoming my favorite. He seems to be the one consistency with the team. No matter if it is home/away, nor the opponent, he always seems to bring his best and play with some heart

So, so dumb.

4. However, Skylar played horrible. He constantly was burned on D, and it was bad. Pretty sure his start was a one game thing.

A little rough.

we should all know by now that he is a good role player and does not have the ability to shut down SEC guards

Yes, but I think that was his worst game defensively. He's actually decent, but Ware owned him today, and it's not like Ware has owned other players.

Where is the motion offense? It looks more like getting it to the wing and on the block. I don't see much cutting when the ball goes down low either. You need to have 2 spot ups and a cutter. I don't see cutters or pickers for cutters.

I thought he was in ok position, but getting shots hit in his mug. It happens. I remember one blow by on the baseline on the left side of the tv. He should have either forced him to the middle, or was supposed to have baseline help.

I agree, but even though Skylar played horribly, I would like to see that starting lineup again. Even if Golden comes in at the 18:00 minute mark. Just seemed like he "got" it tonight coming off the bench. Like the announcers said, doesn't matter who starts, just who gets the most minutes.

Either way, Golden played great tonight.

If McRae can continue to improve, we may become a pretty good team by the end of the season.

Because we actually did well against the zone. We did a good job penetrating, and we actually passed the ball around and got some decent looks, especially since we couldn't throw it down low since they swarmed our low posts. It's why UGA didn't stay in it all game.

No we didn't. We passed it around near mid court for 25 seconds, then threw up crap. Never once did we flash to the free throw line.

What?! Are you serious? Maymon was at the FT line all game. They slumped and guarded the high post all game and it opened up driving lanes for Golden.

Idk if that is totally true, we got to shoot a bunch of uncontested threes (3 from McRae alone) in this game which is usually a direct result of crashing into the zone and dishing to the open man on the wing

No, you were just dreaming. Golden had 16 points and five assists throwing up 20 foot alley oops. Oh and we shot 37 FT's because we just threw the ball around the perimeter and jacked up three's all day.

Also Georgia's coach is a complete douche.

The call on the floor was indeed wrong, but idk if it warranted that kind of reaction with that kind of language. I assume he had to have an alterior motive for going nuts like that

ZJC is correct. We actually did an admirable job of attacking the zone yesterday and were able to shoot them out of it from outside. Had we continued missing open 3's, they would have stayed with the zone. They gambled and lost with that tactic.

We shot 22 shots from behind the arc and only 20 inside it. It's not that hard to figure out.
