....refuses to wear Adidas shoes and could cost UCF a $3 million contract.
He says he will only wear his fathers shoes.
So the question must be asked.....why the heck sign with an Adidas school?

Exactly. Why should he receive special treatment?

Something tells me he is used to "special treatment" being the son of a basketball great. Why should a entire university (not just the basketball team) have to possibly lose a contract just because one player does not want to wear a brand of shoe. He knew he was signing with a Adidas school.

Pretty silly.

Adidas probably wins in this situation. Marcus will piss and moan until they let him wear Jordans...then he'll go on to average 4.5 points per game in them. Jordans will be exposed as worthless basketball kicks, and every kid in America will run out and by Adidas.

I guess the kid doesn't get that he is a publicity stunt and only playing D1 basketball because his last name is Jordan

Give him three trys to jam it from the free throw line.

If he fails, hand him some Adidas and tell em to shut up.

If he dunks it, pat him on the back,.....and hand him some Adidas.

I'm quite confident adidas realizes how petty this would make them look and doesn't say a word.

Jordan's son wears Nike, costs UCF adidas deal - ESPN
ORLANDO, Fla. -- A fight over the shoes Michael Jordan's son will wear at the University of Central Florida has cost the school any future sponsorship with adidas.

"The University of Central Florida has chosen not to deliver on their contractual commitment to adidas," adidas spokeswoman Andrea Corso wrote in an e-mail to The Associated Press. "As a result we have chosen not to continue our relationship with them moving forward."

Freshman guard Marcus Jordan wore a pair of white Air Jordans during UCF's 84-65 win in an exhibition game against Saint Leo on Wednesday night, the Orlando Sentinel reported on its Web site. Jordan has said he will only wear his father's Nike Air Jordan shoes because they hold special meaning to his family.

UCF is in the final year of a five-year contract with adidas that requires coaches and athletes to use the company's apparel and equipment.

"We are disappointed to learn that adidas has chosen to discontinue its relationship with UCF Athletics," the school said in a statement Wednesday night released by spokesman Joe Hornstein. "Once we receive official notice we will be able to further respond."
Someone should tell this kid he is only playing D1 basketball because of his dad

Someone on the UCF coaching staff shouldn't have told Marcus while he was being recruited there would be no problem with him wearing Nikes, because that's what's been reported several times by various sources here in Orlando.

Don't hate on Marcus for promises UCF made before covering their ass with Adidas.
