'Tis that most wonderful time of the year

As we are battling the Cardinals to begin the 2022 campaign, I christen this thread "The Chicks of Ball State"

Will admit that research yielded a target rich environment of Women's Studies professors; all yours @The Ron Mexico

It's Football Time in Tennessee!!

Now a professor at Loyola N.O., Tony Ladd is from Muncie. In the late 70s, he was a doctoral student teaching undergraduate classes at UT. We met on a road trip to Colorado in 1976 and have remained friends through the ensuing years.

Also, Muncie was a location for Close Encounters of the Third Kind. We cannot see mashed potatoes the same way…

I'm wanting to say Muncie was also a locale for a John Dillinger home. But, not sure if i'm recalling that correctly.

Dillinger, paroled from the Indiana State Prison on March 22, 1933, showed up in Muncie a few weeks later, reportedly in possession of a list of banks and businesses to be robbed that had been prepared in part by "Handsome Harry" Pierpont, a Muncie native doing time for robbery convictions.
While for decades the Daleville robbery was cited as Dillinger's first bank job, that dubious distinction apparently belongs to the New Carlisle (Ohio) National Bank, held up on June 10.
At about 12:15 a.m. on July 15, Dillinger and most of the same associates who had visited New Carlisle – at least some of whom that week had taken up lodging in a Muncie boarding house, at 515 S. Council St. – held up the Bide-A-Wee Inn, a "roadhouse" best known for its barbecue, at the present-day site of the Oasis Tavern, at Burlington and Memorial drives.
