Mickelson manned up huge.

Thought Tiger's post game comments were dismissive of the win - was asked about Phil's performance and he said that 3 to 5 under was out there for anyone that got comfortable with carrying the ball further onto the green. Well, apparently it was only out there for a handful of people so why not just say Phil played a great round and be done with it.

He mad.

Two wins for us older guys today. Lefty and Woody Austin (49 years old) down in Mississippi. Lefty got a laugh when he said if 6 seconds counted for 1 win, he would have at least one win of each major. Hope he can get that US Open.

Tiger is all about Tiger - still. He is trying to be a better guy in the public eye (except for damn expletives in front of the camera and kids), but he can't quite pull it off because it's just his nature to be a jerk.

If you think Tiger is the only player on tour that's curses on camera you are delusional. The only reason you hear Tiger is he gets 10 times more coverage than anyone else.

I've got bad news for you. About 50% of them on tour are "jerks". And it's that ego that allows them to be great.

As much as I don't care for Woods, this is dead on. He has about 10 times more cameras on him, so they're going to catch everything he does good or bad.

Language doesn't bother me. I'm still trying to find out who made the rules on what words are "offensive" when we hear them.

I hate that broomstick that Adam Scott putt with though. For some reason, it looks even more rediculous in The Open.

You have to continue to get offended by them, otherwise they lose their power and we'll have to invent new words to label as profanity.

I read an interview where he said Phil getting to three under made it a little more manageable to lose because it was a "hell of a number." Said that if it was only one under a lot more people would be mad.

Vol in ar please note I'm actually defending Tiger...

Wonder how this board would have reacted if tiger snapped a club like Schwartzel.

Also tiger rarely complains about courses. Most golfers complain non stop about being unfair.

I would hesitate to say "most," but the number is large.

which is what makes the whole figjam thing a joke to me. Always has.
For a "fake" guy, he sure has been carrying on the fake smiles, handshakes, high fives, interviews, autographs, etc for a long time, especially considering he spends more time with the fans than just about anyone.

Who cares if a young millionaire golfer is a cocky ahole at times. Welcome to pro golf.
Hell, welcome to amateur golf.

I personally believe that's the problem. He's a cocky a-hole in the locker room and inside the ropes, but he does love the fans. He can't still be faking all that. I have no problem with a player/athlete taking that kind of approach to the game. He has to think he's the best and walk around like he's the best. It happens in every sport.

He was also a husband/family man at a young age before twitter, camera phones and such where the pro golf fraternity was a road party for many with women at every stop.
He didn't fit in that group. Being cocky, goofy, rich, good, and not "one of the guys" ostracized him a little bit.
