I think Spieth, Webb Simpson, Adam Scott, Patrick Cantlay, and Kuchar will contend, but I agree with you about Koepka. I like players going in that have been on that are on a roll.I think you have to go with Koepka until he cools off. He's on a historic major championship run right now that should be talked about more
Depends a lot on the setup too. If they play an actual golf course, all those guys along with Tiger, Rory etc will be in the hunt. If the USGA does what they've been known to do in order to engineer a winning score around Par, God only knows who survives.I think Spieth, Webb Simpson, Adam Scott, Patrick Cantlay, and Kuchar will contend, but I agree with you about Koepka. I have always said that the USGA should just water board the players, deprive them of sleep and food, shove pieces of bamboo under their fingernails, subject them to public humiliation, etc. and then let them go play 9 holes for the championship.Depends a lot on the setup too. Phil nailed it a few days ago when he said basically the USGA always screws up the setup and it's just a matter of whether there's enough rain to keep it playable.I have always said that the USGA should just water board the players, deprive them of sleep and food, shove pieces of bamboo under their fingernails, subject them to public humiliation, etc. and then let them go play 9 holes for the championship.
I knew Bruce Lietzke, having sold him an old musclecar, and he told me that he quit playing in the U.S. Open because of the setups. I believe that was about 1985, when he was about 35.
My pick is Hideki Matsuyama. Plays well in majors and it seems like his time.Who wins the US Open at Pebble Beach ? Rory blew away a watered down field today, Koepka has won 4 out of the last 8 majors and the last one, PGA Championship at Bethpage Black. Tiger, of course, just won the Masters. Can't wait until Thursday. Who u all picking ? My pick is Tiger, probably because I just watched a show about his 15 shot win in the 2000 (?) US Open at Pebble Beach, today. Plus, I love a great comeback story
