The Golf Thread

I'll go to the local Golf Discount in town but really hate it, because the employees will basically ignore you if you're not a 30-50 year old man that just pulled up in your new 7-series. Profiling sucks.

that's the way i like it. if i need help, i'll ask. until then, back off.

well that's one way to look at it. But as soon as you ask for help, they turn their customer service switch off and treat you like a leper. I'm sure this isn't always the case. But it is at this place.

i can't bring myself to buying golf balls online. It's not a big enough issue that I would go online instead of just heading to any local golf shop and getting some NXT Tours. Although these e6s are very nice and were 4 bucks cheaper. Thanks for the thought though.
tgw typically has last season's high end balls for about 29 / doz. I play so little now, that when I do, I'm going to the ball I wanna play, which is the ProV1x

no worries, I remember having to search for the odd stuff back when I was in tennessee. Now I have an edwin watts superstore and a golfsmith both within 3 miles of the house.

Lucky you
The only golf shop in Fayetteville closed, a Golf USA, heard it was due to tax issues

i have a pair of footjoy ecomforts and the contours and enjoy both. Am also about to get footjoys tennis shoe style. However my favorite shoe is my Nike SP 6:

The contour is an amazing shoe, but it honestly needs retired. I have completely worn those things out.

I've looked at that shoe, but can't bring myself to to wear them with a stripe that's burnt orange

the blessings has a good pro shop and there is a great golf shop in Rogers for some better equipment.

Actually bought my irons from the Blessings, and I go to the Golf store in Rogers, but I enjoyed stopping in the Fayetteville store on my way home from work, or if I was around on the weekend

Really pretty surprised to hear he was closed for tax reasons, he seemed like a nice old guy, and his son ran his store in Bella Vista

I wear the FJ Classics Tours. Now that they've done away with the leather soles, they are lighter, more comfortable and the most stable shoe out there.

that's was just my thought on them

you actually had me second guessing myself to the point that i went to the bag and pulled them out. Maybe my leather is just a little different, i'm not really sure, but I only see light brown in the threading and in the swoosh. But to each their own. I don't like the idea of sharing a shoe that someone else i know (even if it's only via a message board) has anyway!:p

I have the Black and the Brown DryJoy Pro's.

I Like the Classics, but I can't bring myself to shell out $250+ for a shoe

enjoy them I don't have them anyway

on a side note though arkie, the SP6 was originally tabbed as Justin Leonard's shoe and he is a Texas alum, so maybe you're on to something that my eyes just can't see.

I meant that as lighthearted as possible. They are a very comfortable shoe IMO. I'm flatfooted and they fit better than most golf shoes I've ever had. I love the look of Adidas golf cleats but I can't wear a pair for one minute without my feet hurting.

I am headed home to GA for a wedding this weekend, and just accepted an invite to play Sea Island. This will be my first round since July unless I sneak out early and play tomorrow. It might get ugly very quickly on Saturday.

It's hard to do ugly at Sea Island

There's 17 to go after #1
have fun

Tonight's project will be getting my bag back in order. That leaves me no excuses to postpone my first ugly trip to the range.
