The Holly Bobo Kidnapping

Hi All! I am in Memphis and this case has really hit home for so very many of us.

I am just at a loss that it has already been over a month and we are literally at the same spot with same info as we were the first 24 hours into Holly's abduction.. I do pray that LE/investigators have a wealth of info/knowledge that has them close to finding Holly and bringing the perp to face swift and firm justice for the pain and anguish that not only has he inflicted on Holly and her loved ones, but an entire community and literally even further and entire state and a lot of a concerned nation..

This beautiful, vibrant, and full of life young woman deserves to be found and those responsible face the music and their face shown for the true evil that they are.. It sickens me to know that this monster is still free sharing our sidewalks with us and our innocent children, and he is also one of you or I's neighbors.. Thats's just the true reality that we haven't a clue of who this monster is or where he is and most likely he is living under the guise as just one of us.. A local.. an upstanding member of the community..a concerned citizen worried about a fellow citizen's well being and even possibly at some point early in this monster may have even taken part in one or more of the searches done by members of the community[and any who traveled in from other city/towns] to volunteer their time and help in any way possible to find this beautiful young girl..

Holly did nothing to cause nor does she in any way deserve to have had her life completely ripped from her and ripped her literally from the arms of the many who loved her.. Sadly I know that time is one thing that is definitely not on our side and that the longer this goes by..with each day that passes..her chances of coming home alive and well to rejoin her family and start the road to healing..the more the chances are dwindling away as that being a possibility..

I know we have the "miracles" Elizabeth Smart[9mos], Shawn Hornbeck[4 yrs], Jaycee Dugard[18yrs].. those are just a few of the most well known that are your exception to the rule..The rule being that after 48-72 hours into an abduction the likelihood of the victim no longer being alive is very great..So, tho I do know there are miracles and exceptions but they truly are so very few and far between that it would be foolish to attempt to bank on that rarity being the case for Holly..but I will hold out hope for however long it takes..and that means until we have some evidence that proves or highly is indicative that she is no longer alive..until then I will continue to pray that Holly actually be one of the miracles..No doubt that tonight and every night that exact thought and prayer is Karen and Dana's..clinging to the hope that their precious Holly still be out there and still somehow..someway still be alive.. And for that I would never blame them or judge them..Any parent would need..would literally have to hold onto this hope..for without it things suddenly/automatically turn form fear and frustration at what they're presently facing..it turns to the darkest, blackest, bleakest reality that a parent could ever imagine.. The light at the end of the tunnel,,tho that light seemed so very far away and was at times almost flickering out..it still nonetheless was still there and one could indeed see it way off there in the distance.but when that parent finally is hit with the reality of what happened to their baby..and that it is not temporary but rather permanent and their precious baby girl is lost to them forever..The moment that happens is the moment that the light at the end of the tunnel flickers out immediately and permanently..they are left there in that dark and cold blackness that literally consumes them and almost literally sucks the life from them as well..

Unbearable beyond words is the only way I could even begin to really describe it.. So, tonight just like the last month of nights I am going to fervently pray for Holly as well as for her family especially Karen and Dana.. and I will continue to hold hope against hope even with all odds stacked against us at this time.. IMO it truly is the only thing that many of us can do to help Holly be brought back home where she belongs..and that means either way alive or not she needs to be home where her family can lay her to rest at peace as they so see fitting.. Bury this young woman with the dignity and respect that she more than deserves..

Praying hard in Memphis tonight!!!

P.S.

I wanted to hear if anyone locally had any updates or info that they might be able to share that they have heard..learned..or otherwise.. I really am curious to hear and to know what is the locals perspective and feelings and opinions about Holly's abduction and whom do they believe is the "one" that abducted Holly.. These are just a couple of things that I really would like to know the answers too and to hear some of the locals take on what has happened in and/or around this entire investigation..

Looking forward to chatting with any locals that would like to share their first hand perspective..and Thanks in Advance to any who might take the time to reply..It is greatly appreciated..:)

I feel everything you have said. I can't explain why but I guess I feel like I know Holly althought I live in California. I have prayed since day one MANY TIMES DAILY for Holly's safe return. I just can't imagine why someone would want to hurt her or any of the other beautiful young ladies that have come up missing. if you go to Blink On Crime - or Blink On Crime - Holly Bobo Missing And Endangered: Are Suspects Naming Themselves- Odd Dodd? You can learn a lot about what the locals think about this case.

I must say you all gave me a nice, little chuckle when reading a few of your replies..

Truth be known you couldn't be more wrong.. I am simply a 33 year old Hairstylist that's been slinging hair for the past 12 years..before that I worked as a Rad Tech with my little 2 year Associates Degree from good ol' former "Shelby State" now known as "Southwest Tennessee".. No journalism whatsoever..hehehehe!! And definitely no reporting done for anyone or anything except reporting to my clients about what's the newest..greatest trend in hair dos..lol..

Definitely work for no one and haven't in years..have been lucky and fortunate enough to be self-employed and have my own shop..Definitely will have to remember to mention to my husband that I was accused of possibly working for Nancy Grace.. it is one person he has always loved to hate..he calls her "the hyena" among other not so nice words to describe her on-air arrogance and condescending ways..so he too will definitely get a nice, little chuckle from the thoughts of me "working for " Nancy Grace..

So all in all that's about it.. I am seriously just a gal that's lived in Memphis since the age of 2.. a person that young Holly's abduction has touched my heart and my life.. She could be any one of us[tho I personally am several years older]..Nonetheless there are many things that many of us see in Holly that we can relate to..that are familiar to us and therefor make her tragedy that much closer to our hearts and minds..along with serving as a reminder that it can happen to any of us.. All the very many of us that are so very comfortable in our daily lives, our daily routines..going thru our days and nights with nothing but one track minds of whatever that moments biggest agenda happens to be..Not being aware..Not always paying attention to things, people, and details that we should..Way too very comfortable in our comfy..cozy homes in the suburbs..and even more so in homes a little, further ways out in rural America.. Holly's abduction has brought all of that to a screeching halt for so very many of us..because it has definitely hit home for many..and it has awakened a fear in some of us that we 6 weeks ago did not feel..did not know..did not dread..

Anyway I could go on and on and on rambling but truly my only motive for reaching out on this board was to see what the general feeling was there in Decatur County where you are up close and personal with all I just described and more[of course I am speaking and describing feelings as a female where as I fully recognize that men would not feel and relate exactly as I]...but nonetheless would still recognize and understand possibly what it is that I am describing and the fear felt.. That is not even touching on what so very many of us feel for Karen and Dana and all of Holly's loved ones..The pain, anguish, and the just not knowing would be more than I believe personally that I could bear...

I'll stop there.. Sorry to any that I may have offended or put off in a negative way that certainly wasn't my intention.. If anything could be said or felt of my motives I suppose I am guilty of being "Nosy"..but honestly my intentions were just very simple and very genuine..care..concern..reaching out..and wanting to hear anyone local's opinion of who they think could have done something such as this to a beautiful, smart, and full of life young girl with her entire life ahead of her and all the world at her fingertips.. It is tragic and it is more than sad and it has brought about many feelings and fears in many of us..

Thanks for letting me ramble a bit..

Thanks for the suggestion about Blink you were absolutely correct about it being informative with lots of locals weighing in with their opinions about Holly's abduction.. I have spent the better part of this evening reading and chatting with some..so again I appreciate your providing me the link.. Back when Morgan Harrington went missing I ended up over there and it was so very up to date informative with her case but since then had not been back and had totally forgotten about the site..

I know exactly what you mean when you speak of being drawn to Holly and her case.. I think there are many that are drawn to it for a number of reasons.. For me personally I posted earlier tonight about what all Holly's abduction had affected even in our day to day lives..sometimes things just hit so close to home and make you take notice and realize of just what evils there are out in this world and that in this day and age everyone is at risk from big cities to tiny towns..none of us are immune to the violence and evil that transcends all social classes..all geography.. and all races and sexes...it strikes in the hearts of families and brings about pain and anguish..And it truly is almost more than a human being can bear[especially in losing their child]..it is the nightmare of all nightmares for all of us parents..

Again tonight sending out many prayers from Memphis for Holly and her loved ones and for there to be resolution very soon..

Again Thanks bluetoy:)

**call Horsesh!t I honestly could give 2 sh!ts less..It is laughable..lol:p{not directed at you bluetoy}

Is there a way to send a private message to another person on this forum? I looked and couldn't figure it out if there is.
Thanks! B T

Still hopeful. Just got through reading about Elizabeth Smart. She's a local from Salt Lake City Utah who was kidnapped in 2002. She was 14 at the time. She was found alive and well 9 months later about 18 miles from home and her kidnappers arrested. Anyway, it just shows that hope is not lost or displaced in all of these cases.

I read an article today that the Parsons area has turned into a big rumor mill with many residents phoning in rumors as tips. I don't trust the source of the article and just wondered if anyone in the area could confirm. Just yes or no. I have no interest in what the rumors are.

You didn't know about the Elizabeth Smart case until you just read that?
Oh, no. They've been doing pieces on her in the local news (online paper) again lately. Just returned from her mission and making life plans and such. Just jogged me on Holly and hoping for a safe return for her, too.

Oh, OK. The way you gave the details of the case made me think it was new to you.

No, the event happened a few years before I moved here, but everything else is weekly or monthly news/updates. Impossible to miss. I understand though.

Don't you get it...LE has em right where they want em.

Sorry but this case got screwed up and I've lost any hope
