I enjoyed The Hurt Locker more. Not saying it's a super awesome movie. I've just never seen the big deal with Apocolypse Now. Nothing special to me.

Not really the same kind of movie. Apocalypse Now is a story about colonialism and the human condition that was simply set against the backdrop of Vietnam. Hurt Locker is actually a war movie.

For the people who have literally stated which one they think is better, Apocalypse Now is winning 3-2.

Make it 4-2. A-Now is just a better movie.

I thought the book was kind of boring. The plot is awesome, but I don't really like Conrad's writing style. I had to force myself to pay attention through the first half.

war movies really should be compared when they are about the same war. A better comparison for Apocalypse would be The Deer Hunter, Full Metal Jacket, or even Platoon.
