The Hurt Locker -vs- Apocalypse Now

Not really the same kind of movie. Apocalypse Now is a story about colonialism and the human condition that was simply set against the backdrop of Vietnam. Hurt Locker is actually a war movie.

This. I just watched hurt locker for the first time (I know, I'm way behind on my DVR) and I thought it was good, but I was left feeling like there should have been more to the story.

I bet it's a lot of the younger posters that are voting for The Hurt Locker. Nothing is wrong with that though.

I was at least able to finish The Hurt Locker. I have tried watching Apocalypse Now no less than 6 times, but have never succeeded. One time I got really close too...but same result...i'll be fast asleep by movie's end.

One day I'll take precautionary measures and go and get some gas station crack* from the gas station or 7-11 prior to viewing.

*You know what I'm talking about. Stacker 3's and the like.

Martin Sheen covers himself with mud.

the natives slaughter a cow

Marlon Brando turns his head amidst some very dramatic lighting

Martin Sheen kills Brando.

the best part of that movie is Robert Duvall's character
