The Impeachment Thread

I still think Obama has Trump beat in the corruption category.

Obama made mistakes, but he was not corrupt in the same way as Trump. You have probably ridiculed him for being a community organizer. For crying out loud, Obama still serves food at charities on Thanksgiving. He is a Christian, like Carter, but of course not many are really like Carter. WTF are you, besides one of Trump's cult followers?

Not that it matters too much in the argument about impeachment but since you brought up this subject of the seriousness of delaying lethal aid for the defense of Ukraine, here's a tangential thing for you to consider. If the ongoing war that "an American ally was engaged in" was so important and that ally absolutely needed funds to provide arms for protection, why did Obama refuse to do so but sent blankets instead?

Just wondering why the plight of poor Ukraine is so important now, when it wasn't so important when Crimea was taken in 2014 under the previous administration? Is it just to embellish the position taken to make it seem that more egregious?

Can't fight if you're freezing to death. We are all smart enough to understand that the cost of war goes far beyond weaponry.
People still need food, clothing, and shelter.

Community orginaizer, LOL, yeah he should be ridiculed, what exactly did he accomplish with that...... LOL

Christians can be, and are, fake and full of it and sometimes are real pos humans.....

He was corrupt, as has been the vast vast majority of politicians for well over 4 decades. Your Obama cult following won't allow you, rather, your Democratic party love, won't allow you to acknowledge this.

D.C. and corrupt are synonomous. Both parties, up and down, and all around.

No, that was not what I said. That is what you said. You say a lot of stupid things, just to argue. Do you really think Donald Trump cares about fighting corruption? He does not, and you do not. Trump is the most corrupt President in our history. Everybody knows. His cult doesn't speak about Trump's corruption, but somewhere in that muddled brain of yours, you know. Shall I list examples? You would not acknowledge what you know, because you are thoroughly and willingly brainwashed. You are part of a well indoctrinated group, and you must like it. I don't know why you joined Trump's cult, but you did.
You are a shining example of indoctrination. Your brain must be sparkly clean.

Like you, I'm big on calling out logical fallacies when they fit. I'll admit however that this one always struck me as being hairy because occasionally some subject matter may warrant 'expert' commentary.

If his appeal is to the 'records' of the authors of the Constitution and others that have special competence in that area, is it really an appeal to authority? Indulge me for a sec..

Generally the ad verecundiam fallacy that gave birth to the ''appeal' is involved when people with no expertise parade about as being experts or during time of controversy and authorities are divided - it would be a logical error to base one’s view on the authority of just some of them. Obviously, the authors of the Constitution are not pretend experts, they wrote it. Many of them went on to author books and letters describing the process as well as their thoughts. A grayer area certainly but the "contemporaries" (experts) whose "life study" to the Constitution is thrown into question; shouldn't there be a litmus test to see if there division within the "experts" findings or appreciable areas of disagreement that conflicts with the Constitution or its authors records?

Of note:
If his argument is logically defensible, do it. If all he can do is defend it with appeals to experts, he's wasted our time. The experts used to do surgery without washing their hands.

You're kidding, right? Are you really that brainwashed? Bush 43's Sec of Treasury warmed him that the pending bank failures would cause a depression worse than the Great Depression. And that was after Bush jacked up spending at the highest rate since the middle of WWII, while cutting taxes on the wealthiest people in the country. Corruption under Republicans goes unregulated and out of control. Obama's spending was to salvage Bush's disaster. You ought to be glad and thank Obama for that, but you lack the character.

They weren't hungry and freezing to death. Obama was afraid of Putin's reaction if he sent lethal aid to Ukraine.

But you knew this. That was a really poor response from you. I know you can do better. Please try harder next time.
