The Impeachment Thread

Yeah, I don't know.. I'm not sure who on here suggested Trump would throw Pence under the bus, calculating that the chances of the Senate voting to impeach would be close to zero, knowing that Pelosi would serve as POTUS in the interim of the elections. But that sounds about right.
🙋🏻‍♂️

But it wasn’t an original thought.

The problem for Pence is that either he figured out what was going on and was too scared to act to stop it, or he is incredibly stupid that he didn't figure it out. I'd say its 50-50 between those two.

Either way he needs to go, too.

Shouldn’t you like, you know , get rid of one before you start on somebody else ? Looks like you have all you can handle just trying to deal with Trump .

Allowing Pelosi to just walk right in and assume the role? Going after Trump, I get it. Removing Pence based on "just because they can", they will risk losing what moderate voters they'll have left .

Most, if not all of the moderates and independents will see this as a grab for absolute power and they'll pay for it during the next election cycle.

Graham has done some seriously quick flip flopping lately. I guess he learned from Trump that you can say two different things and your base will believe you.
Graham is about as consistent as Tennessee weather in early Fall. That snake will latch on to whatever direction the wind is blowing.

So if the polls reach this number of 60%, then what? Will the left be satisfied with a possible Trump impeachment or do they have Pence in the crosshairs as well? If so and their goal is to have Nancy take over, IMO those positive numbers will turn the other way as it will appear to those on the outside that the left had a plan since November of 2016 to reverse the results by any means necessary.

Slippery slope here.
I haven't read anything that would implicate Pence in any of this. Seems like he was just there during the election to placate Evangelicals. Now he's just trying to polish the turd that is Trumpism.

I agree with LG about a lot of stuff, but I disagree with him about this entire situation.

Pence isn't going to be impeached by the House. Trump won't be convicted by the Senate.

Moscow Mitch and friends aren't going to remove a sitting President up for reelection, regardless of what crimes Trump has committed. I don't think any Republican Senator votes for removal.

I have a feeling Moscow Mitch will pull the same crap he did with Obama's SCOTUS nominee and say, "we should leave it up to the American people to decide in the 2020 election."

The dems are discussing scope and scale of articles of impeachment now.

Of course it would be Pence. There is no grand conspiracy. People just want the horrendously despicable human rightfully and legally removed from office.

You actually believe that the left will just stop if they achieve this single goal?

To be fair and since it is just a popularity contest to sway voters , Mitch would be correct in doing so .

You actually believe this has anything to do with anything other than Trump?
I'll break it down for you.....it doesn't. It's all about Trump and nothing else.
Forget the conspiracies and the deep state nonsense.
Trump is horrendously despicable, should have never been nominated, should have never won, and should be removed as soon as legally possible.
That's it. Nothing more, nothing less.

Nah, Mitch was wrong about not confirming Obama's SCOTUS nominee, and he will be wrong again with not allowing the impeachment trial to go to the Senate pre-2020 election.
