The Impeachment Thread

The Intelligence Community Inspector General in late August referred a criminal complaint to the Justice Department to investigate whether the President’s pushing for Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden, a potential 2020 rival, was a violation of campaign finance law, the Justice Department said.

The Justice Department’s criminal division last week determined to not open a formal investigation of the president for possible campaign finance violations.

The IG made a criminal referral to the Justice Department because the AG, Trump, Giuliani, and the State Department were engaged in a scheme to get a foreign government to investigate a political rival and American Citizen. Barr decided not to proceed.

He must recuse and another special council will have to be appointed.

Do we all fully appreciate the beauty of this coming out after two+ years of Trump ranting about the Obama administration using government power to go after a political opponent?
nobody GAF. We all know everything is just a political play. We have no alternatives.

Are you talking about Hillary and Obama using foreign assets to try to set up Trump?

This is going to cause everyone you might think of to move to their respective corners. For the moment.

But this is really awful stuff, if you think about it in the big picture. The reason that we cannot have presidents seeking the help of foreign governments to investigate political rivals is three-fold:

1) it makes the President indebted to them.

2) it makes the President susceptible to blackmail as the other government now has dirt that the President sought their help;

3) the information is coming in from a place over which the U.S. government and citizens have no control. A corrupt foreign government could easily manufacture or exaggerate something on a President's political opponent and we would have no real way to check it.

So as time wears on, I am hopeful we will see some more Romney-esque responses out of the Senate and that things get to a point where Trump simply cannot continue. He can do the honorable thing and resign, then go on all the tv shows he would like and rant and rave about the things he cares about, make some serious bank in the process.

Everybody wins.

That’s not what the transcript said at all LOL
Excited to see all the conservative gaslighting/straight lying today
The transcript and Trump have noW admitted asking a foreign government to dig up dirt on a political rival/private citizens.

Now we just have to wait and see what Rudy’s dumbass has done, and verify why aid was held before this phone call

Has your life been turned upside down since Jan. 2017? Lose your job? Your house? Wife leave you because of Trump? Big loss of income? Have to give up your guns? Lose your freedom of speech? Freedom to assemble? Freedom of religion? Wounded or died in a foreign war? Taxes gone up appreciably? Lose your life, liberty, or pursuit of happiness? What is so f*****g bad that you idiots can't let it go???

This wouldn't be nearly as funny if the Snowflake in Chief hadn't led a multi-year witch hunt to find Barack Obama's Kenyan birth certificate.
