"We have been working hard at the shop to prevent this kind of thing from happening," Gordon said. "It's just so hard, especially on a track like this. It wasn't safe for us to be out there. The handling went away, and I don't know why because the Dupont Chevrolet was awesome".

I used to take great pleasure in seeing Jeff Gordon take the car to the garage, but this time I was more worried that something would also happen to Jr.'s car. Times sure have changed.

Good race for 24 today. I'll take 3rd. I liked the class he showed getting out of Edwards way late in the race (of course he didn't really have a choice).:)

You make a good point, he could have held the 99 up for a few seconds. Class move, but he sure hurt me in the pick em.

Even he admitted on Wind Tunnel that he is a whiner. I give him credit for his talent and results, but I just never can get behind someone who dominates. It stinks up the show as it is popular to say. I felt the same way about Earnhardt, Waltrip, and Cale Yarborough. I think a lot of fans are like this. To make a thread for any one driver to me is unnecessary, but I guess it is your priviledge .

Here we go - another person that hates winners because they win!??? Dont admire his talent just hate because he's good??*&^ thats real nice

Go pull for JJ YELEY

Where he say he hates him personally? I never knew there was a rule that said fans only are allowed to root for winners

You can't help your feelings towards another driver or team. Tons of people don't like Gordon,Yankees,Patriots,Red Wings etc. Are we supposed to force ourselves to like them because they are good?
I think about everyone on here admires Gordon's talent
but that and being a fan of his are two entirely different things.

Can we change the thread title to 'Everybody has to root for Gordon because he is good'?

Although I reluctantly give him his due for ability, if your tongue-in-cheek suggestion would become reality, I would have to discontinue watching NASCAR and this Forum, before I would comply. and that would be true no matter which driver you were to plug in that statement.

Also find in that post where he said Gordon has no talent.

Thanks for your posts, my damn internet provider has been down all day. On the contrary, I specifically said he is talented, I think he is one of the top 5 all time drivers. But if I don't pull for him is not to say I hate him. dmc5150, you either need remedial reading for comprehension, or you are a heck of lot more intolerant than you paint me to the point of making you see what you want to see.

Thank God we are in a country where that idealology is not embraced by the majority, think about it, for your own benefit.

Pathetic showing by the 24 bunch today. As a long-time Gordon fan, it's a shame to see the later years of his career have so many showings like this on a 1.5-mile track, places where he used to be unbeatable. I don't know what it is with this group, but they seem to be behind the curve again, which was the case a few years ago when everyone started going to the coil-bind setups. All the while, the 48 and 88 are running in the top 10. I really don't get it, but it's a shame. Maybe instead of going on vacation during the off-week they should've been testing like the 48 was.
