Remember, the only reason why Barnes is still here is because UCLA balked at paying the buyout...

While Kiffin's buyout should have been much higher than $800K, or even higher than $2M, I don't think money was going to keep him from taking the USC job .... Barnes wasn't willing to make less money at this late stage in his career ... Kiffin was only 34 at the time. I think he would have taken less from USC, and USC would have paid $3m of a buyout at the time to get him. They had run out of options. I don't like Hammy either ... but Kiffin was gone when USC came calling in 2010.

Have to admit I spent along time hating Spurrier until I realized he could actually take the barbs as well. Kiffin is kinda of the same way. Sometimes I laugh sometimes I just roll my eyes. But like many I will never trust him again.

If heā€™s one of the best, then come on. Heupel as HC and Kiffin as OC, Peyton as QB coach. Knox and Marshall in the QB room and the rest is history.

Give him preferred walk-on status. Charge full out of state tuition and let him restock mustard bottles in the dining room to pay for books.

Knox comes to Rocky Top in 2028 and completes the Kiffin redemption arc. Then Manningā€™s boy becomes a Vol soon after. 2030s could be a fun decade, haha.
