If you will look at past posts, today is the first day that I've had anything negative to say about Holly's coaching ability. The game today changed all that. I've made several posts today criticizing the direction of this team.

I really wanted Holly to be successful. Pat built the Lady Vols dynasty and she handed the torch to Holly, so I wanted to respect that. I thought there could be no better person who would appreciate what it meant to be a Lady Vol and keep the tradition alive.

It is obvious, for whatever reason, this team is not headed in the right direction. The program has greatly slipped. We've blown a 27 game home winning streak. We lost badly to an UNRANKED team today. We are not a top 5 program anymore. We are no longer ELITE. I have doubts if we are even a top 20 program at this point. That really hurts me to say.

Holly Warlick is a Lady Vols legend as a player, but unfortunately, this did not carry over to her as a Head Coach. Thank you Holly for all you've done as a player and assistant coach. Thank you for trying to keep the legacy alive as the head coach, but this is simply not working.

I will always support the Lady Vols, but they are truly painful to watch. Something has to change before it's too late. I don't want to see the Lady Vols become LA Tech. It is time for a change.

Holly does not coach offense and its painfully obvious. The ball and player movement is absolutely awful. If im coaching this team i want them to run run and run some more. Holly preaches slow slow slow and it an absolute disgrace to watch. The girls deserve better the fans deserve better. Basketball has moved to an even more offensive game and holly has been left behind.

I had a feeling this was going to happen. No disrespect to Holly, but it is what it is. Following a legend is hard. Pat's teams were feared. This team is only wearing the same colors. We can forget being mentioned in the same breath as Connecticut, Notre Dame, or Baylor. The best we can hope is that the team is decent. This one has a ways to go.

and BTW, the Lady Vols are more like La. Tech. than you want to admit. While Barmore was coaching them, they were a serious program. When he hung it up, the program went down the toilet. Sound familiar?

Something that has me really concerned is the recruiting. I didn't think much about our whiff for 2016 recruits before the season started because I thought we were very talented final four team and could survive a whole year of not getting a single top 100 player. Now the situation looks dire because if we lose ten or more games this season, it's possible we lose the same or even more next year. Can you imagine how bad this team will be once Diamond graduates and we continue to miss out on recruiting..Ya La Tech is saying a big hello..I'm starting to worry now..

This is usually how dynasties end--> long winning streaks are broken and suddenly start losing to upstart programs like VTech. The LV BB program is about to fall off a cliff, and the longer Holly stays the longer it will take to turn it around.

This is Holly's biggest enemy--not the fan base. Her ability to recruit is going to be seriously challenged by parents, AAU/High School coaches, and fellow head coaches on the recruiting trail and sadly she keeps giving them material.

In order to save her hide she has to let one of those assistants go this offseason and bring in an assistant who knows how to run a motion pass oriented offense.

I realize the play of the team dictates this. But I noticed the South Carolina crowd is what ours used to be. Our crowd is just sitting there waiting for something to happen. The SC crowd is waving towels and going nuts. Just another sign our program has slipped down. Today should have been a 15 to 25 point blow out. And unfortunately it almost was.

In terms of resources, we are nothing like La Tech. Dave Hart can make the necessary hire to turn this around. It's just a matter of whether or not he will.

Holly has driven this program into an all-time low point. Attendance is dwindling, many left today with a couple of minutes left.

Recruits aren't stupid, they know a sinking ship when they see one....

Our Lady Vols lost by 14 today to unranked VT "ON THE SUMMITT".
The UGA Lady Dawgs beat #22 Seton Hall by 18 today.
One of my Ga. neighbors called me today to let me know that. Just in case I hadn't heard.
I HATE Ga. fans.

Get rid of Holly, you might get even worse. Pat is gone and there's not many like her.

We many never find another Pat, but at this point we need a new captain of this ship, because we are now bailing water and we all know what happens after that.

I think that depends entirely on whether Tenn admin and fans insist on hiring someone else from Pat's coaching tree. Tyler is not ready. Nikki has been floundering at LSU. Harper, Butts, Randall et al haven't had great careers either. Jody Adams may be a possibility, but she is unproven on the big stage, especially at recruiting.

UT is going to have to go after Walz, Mulkey, Frese, or Staley and pay them whatever it takes to get them here. I can already hear howls of protest, both at the choice and the expense. The other alternative is someone like Niele Ivey and having the patience for her to turn the program around.

One thing I want to ask is why has it taken you so long to see her ineptitude?

Holly doesn't have the "fire" that Pat had! We need someone that can light a fire under these girls! Recruiting isn't bad but could be a lot better. Need to get some out of Connecticut, NY, NJ, Ohio, MI, California, Texas, Georgia, Indiana and of course Tennessee. There are always top notch players in these states.

I agree completely with all you have said here, however I posted this with this situation in mind.

I think it going to be something on the order of...
Once Lady Vols will replace what is on the jerseys!

Really, the new assistant(s) should be recruiters. When Kim Mulkey saw slippage in the classes after Griner and Odyssey Sims (no top 100 for consecutive yrs) she got two new assistants in 2013. Since that move Baylor has had 2 excellent recruiting classes (Kalana Brown & Mompremier and in '16 Lauren Cox and Natalie Chow). Holly needs to come to the same realization that Mulkey did and act.

This is Holly's biggest enemy--not the fan base. Her ability to recruit is going to be seriously challenged by parents, AAU/High School coaches, and fellow head coaches on the recruiting trail and sadly she keeps giving them material.
