The Lady Vols are not the Lady Vols anymore

Holly doesn't have the "fire" that Pat had! We need someone that can light a fire under these girls! Recruiting isn't bad but could be a lot better. Need to get some out of Connecticut, NY, NJ, Ohio, MI, California, Texas, Georgia, Indiana and of course Tennessee. There are always top notch players in these states.

Holly doesn't exactly project confidence either. She often looks like she is about to cry during losses, both in post game and during the game. She is not a leader. She is a cautionary example of promoting a career assistant to run a major program.

Get rid of Holly, you might get even worse. Pat is gone and there's not many like her.

So, we are supposed to hang with her until the program is where it was in 1974? I don't know if the Alumni Gym still is playable, but a couple more years of this and the Lady Vols wouldn't fill it up. I heard the same crap about Dooley. Thank goodness nobody believed it.

Get Chris Dailey,Shea Ralph or Marisa Moseley from UConn as head coach of the LadyVols and let them put the UConn system in.

I don't think it would be that easy.

UCONN recruits specific to their system. Not looking to make the pass? You won't be recruited. Looking to "take over" a game? They pass on you. Not willing to be in better condition than the rest of the country? Not interested.

Not sure how many current Lady Vols were recruited by Geno, but these would be the ones that would be expected to adapt. Others not so much.

Well, it is not likely to happen anyway but replacing Holly with a UConn product would be the ultimate slap in the face to CPS. There is a lot of coaching talent out there without tapping the Uconn tree.

A bigger slap in the face would be to let the program slip into oblivion. I doubt Pat would have a problem with anybody as long as they got the job done and did it the right way.

So is that the only option:: a Uconn affiliated coach or sink into oblivion?

I think there are many other options than that.

I'd rather the LadyVols win like UConn by bringing a UConn assistant in as head coach. The program will rot if you only hire head coaches with connections to Tennessee.

I will take any coach that knows the difference between a good shooter and a bad shooter. The difference between an athlete and a basketball player. The difference in a good performance and a....... well the crap we have been seeing.

How in the world did you get that from what I said?

I will try to explain.

I said hiring a UConn-linked coach would be a slap in the face to CPS (who is as well documented had serious issues with Geno A and the Uconn program).

You then said a "bigger slap" in the face would be to let the program slip into oblivion.

So, the question is what is the logical relation between suggesting that UT find coaching talent from outside the Uconn orbit and the bigger slap retort?

Not hiring a Uconn-tied coach would then only lead to a "bigger slap" if the operating assumption is that the only means to save the program from further slippage would be to hire a coach with Uconn pedigree.

Or, you were just being argumentative for the sake of doing so which is what message boards are all about :)

I'll wait to see how the road stretch plays out before I may anymore comments as to whats lacking.... It seems like excuse after excuse but when you look at Tenn teams in the past they seem to find a way to get it done like in 2004
Tenn had no returning AA players but they still found a way to get to the NC game.. Pat didn't have a starting PG Moore was injured she moved Tasha from the wing and made her a pg Shyra stepped up and Latoya Davis who was not even looked at found a way to get things done remember her layup and steal versus LSU... It's just shocking to me that this team is in a slump.. Do they not want to win.. But nevertheless lets go Lady Vols

Just put in a coach that actually runs an offense. Will make a night and day difference.
