When you recruit a team that can’t shoot you can’t really be surprised when they can’t shoot lol. This is going to remain an issue until we start recruiting people who can do the most important thing in basketball - actually put the ball in the basket.
I'm old and fat, but I'm pretty confident I can still hit 5 of 10 FTs. Or I could last time I tried. I had a coach once who made us run for every missed FT. CKJ went to the same schools I did growing up, so I'm sure it will be addressed. It's unacceptable--period. You take 29 FT shots and miss 13? You lose.
But poor shooting generally--Vols shot 30 percent tonight, and barely over 50 percent from the FT line--has been this program's
problem for years. And Key with 1 point?
I have thought the same thing regarding Wynn. Wonder if Kellie feels having a three ball threat on the court helps unclog the middle?inquiring minds! because i don't question coach kellie much but this darby thing has me perplexed. I'm not saying don't start her but bringing in Wynn and her defensive presence sooner couldn't hurt ... she would at least rebound and hustle
I don't know but Kellie may be honoring commitments made to players and is not one to pull the rug from under players when they hit a rough spot. If I'm a player, I want to know I have a chance to earn and keep my spot and the coach won't bench me until I play my way out of that position. She also knows Tess has many more months in her system than the freshmen and Kellie values people who know what they are supposed to do in her system. Finally, Kellie is the one who will get fired if things go south so Kellie is using her players as she sees fit in order to win.
