too our season. The Ducks blow most people out even Standford the last two years of Andrew Luck. So just because we were out of position, whatever. Their offense makes that happen. I just hope they realize this going into uf.

It won't mean anything as long as we look 100% better this Saturday, and continue to get better each week, and beat at least one team that we aren't supposed to beat. Hopefully that happens this Saturday.

You are right. In the grand scheme of Tennessee's season, this game means very little outside of the wounded pride of the Vol players and their fans alike. Only, the blindest of the orange faithful prognosticated the Oregon game as a Tennessee win. That being said, this was the worst defeat handed the Big Orange since 1910. That speaks volumes not only about how bad this beat down was but also to the consistent competitiveness of Vol teams past. Sans the opening touchdown by Tennessee, this team and its coaching staff showed little progress from last year in the way of game preparation, defense and tackling, and ability to run the ball when the situation demanded. The lone bright spot was that this team did not quit on us and while out-manned, played hard to the end. There will be days where we Vol fans will wonder if the course we are on is truly the correct one. There is an entire season of SEC games left to navigate. Let's hope that Butch and company can right the ship before it lists off-course into a bowl-less abyss.

You are asking for something that hasn't happened in 4 years!

What makes you think it will be any better?

So let me get this straight a 40 plus point loss means nothing. Very interesting take on the game.

Yes, the beating was brutal and a little more severe than I personally expected. No, it is not that important with Sec play coming up. Our goal is a bowl game. That is our focus at this point. Move on.

Please. All this worst defeat stuff is ridiculous. That is a matter of opinion. Sure we lost by a lot but a loss to Wyoming was worse than this. It cost Fulmer his job. A loss to KY was worse. It cost Dooley his job (among other things). This loss may have a small effect on our pride, but that can be also a good thing. Too much pride can make your players blind, can keep the from working as hard as they need to and developing them into the players they need to be. This is not the worst loss TN has faced. Not by a long shot.

If This Is True, Then We Have Become Vanderbilt.

You failed to mention Stanford beat Oregon last year 17-14 in overtime. USC put up 51 points on Oregon last year and even Arkansas State was able to score 34 on them. I doubt anyone with an ounce of football knowledge actually expected us to win but what happened Saturday showed we are not safe in any game this year including South Alabama. If we played Vanderbilt Saturday they would be favored and probably beat us like a drum.

1. Butch hasn't designed the offense around the talent like he said he would. Massive offensive line is being neutralized by our offensive scheme.

2. Receivers are young and inexperienced but Worley is well Worley and plays scared and slow.

3. Jancek is a liability and will continue to be exposed

4. Croom should have stayed at TE

Bright side

1. Palardy hasn't missed a kick 15-15 xp's and 2-2 fg's

If the last game meant nothing, following that logic the first two games meant nothing as well.

This may have already been mentioned but in 07 we were beaten by Florida 59-20 and we still ended up in the SECCG. Do I think that happens this year, no but that shows that although we can get killed by another team the results of the season can still be positive.

Yes and you'll probably say this after the Florida and S. Alabama game as well. Would you call for Butch's head if we finish 2-10?

The success of a season is not measured by any solitary loss or win, but by the overall body of work the team must go out and earn.

That being said, we can only hope that this team has a snap and clear mentality and plays hard for the rest of the season. This has been something missing for the last several years.
