The team captains are sophomores. We lose very little the next 2 years and recruiting is looking good. That’s not likely to change regardless of the rest of this year. In 2 more seasons and we will know if CJP can get it done. If he cannot he’ll leave the situation fully stacked.

That's what we thought with Butch vis a vis the roster. Recruits are fickle and the free transfer rule will be a killer for anyone replacing a staff in the future, unless you're bringing in a splash hire.

Uuuuhhhh
No we never thought that with Butch.
Butch had some success but wasn’t recruiting need. 2 years out people were pointing out the future roster issue. Not just me. Most were saying it was a disaster waiting to happen. And then there were coaching decisions on top of that.
Not even close to the same

I'm sorry, I have 2 degrees from UT, my wife is a grad, including my kids we have 6 degrees total. We are done watching UT while number "pick 6" is playing like he is. Either he shows improvement or gets replaced or we are done for the year.

I’ll still watch mid I’m going to have an opinion then I need to know what I’m talking about.
I think we Trot TanO out there this week. then maybe HB vs Arky.

If it was up to me it would be HB from here on out.

Bailey knew our schedule when he committed, if facing ala**** scares him, or tge coaches, he shouldn't be here imo. I'd be with you, let him play and learn. Who knows, he could be another ice man. Maybe not, but we don't know till he tries. Jmo twss tifwiw

lots of short memories when it comes to the praise that was heaped on guys who have since been replaced, particularly when some folks need to blame the departed for the failures of their replacements. not suggesting that you fall in that camp, but many on this site do. yes. two years into Butch's tenure we gave him a big raise and a 2-year contract extension after he 'turned the corner' with a 6-6 record and got us to a bowl for the first time in four seasons. 2014 Butch Jones Contract Extended Here is a link a thread Freak started in Feb 2015, linking an article about how awesome Jones did with the Feb 2015 National Signing Day. 2015 Freak Post That's just one thread but I didn't see any complaining about not recruiting for needs in there.

Now compare those classes and how they met the needs of the program and CJPs classes on meeting needs.
Hint attrition doesn’t change anything if the linemen aren’t in the classes to begin with

i agree that Butch (and Dooley, Kiffin, and late career-Fulmer) did a bad job filling the trenches) and i agree that Pruitt has done better in that regard on paper but it isn't showing up on the field and it's come at the cost of worse recruiting at some of the skill positions. i don't see how we're any better off.
