The Last Song You listened to

I'd heard of this band and probably heard something from them, but I had never indulged. This just came up randomly on youtube and the guitar solo in the middle totally shreds. I can't remember the last time a guitar hit me like that on a contemporary song.

Deep cut from the hair metal era. Bands don’t sound exactly the same live now, often much worse. All these bands sounded better.

I wore out their Out of the Cellar album, but pretty much lost interest afterwards.
I like the entire discog, but I’ll admit out of the cellar is the only album that is good from start to finish. Invasion of your privacy, dancing undercover, reach for the sky and detonator have singles that really shine and a whole bunch of filler outside of that.

Pearcy and Crosby were the primary creative songwriters in the band. Croucier and DeMartini didn’t really write. Problem is, Crosby and Pearcy got hooked on opiates and cocaine after Cellar came out and it shot their drive and creativity.

That said, Way Cool Jr. is still their best song overall.
