Kelly Harper - I’m a fan, she does a good job. She has paid her dues.
Kara Lawson - probably do a good job, she has not paid her dues.
Tina Langley - Growing on me, has good credentials.
Choosing between two former player could cause problems among former players.
I think we should go with Langley, I would prefer her to have a former lady vol on her staff, like Mikki Demoss.

Yeah it's a political thing where the best candidate doesn't get hired or even considered because a certain player or players played for Pat Summitt. The only thing that would break this cycle of women's basketball program head coaching inbreeding would be to have a bad spell in the program where it didn't go to the NCAA Tournament for a few seasons in a row and then the people in power would figure out they need to hire someone outside of the Pat Summitt head coaching tree.

I'm a total Lawson fan. Loved her when she played. Loved her in the W. Love her as a ...what... sports talking head... except when she and Lobo are talking about everything but what is going on on the court. BUT let us not be totally stupid and give a premier coaching job to someone who has not served in the coaching trenches beyond 6 weeks last summer in a tweeners (give mom 2 hours off) summer camp! Gimme a break. AAARRRGGGHHH!

The Cy-Fair ISD is within the shadow of the City of Houston. If you can recruit Cy-Fair you can win. Check out her roster and see where her star players are from.

Stanford, A&M, Texas and Baylor recruit Cy-Fair hard and heavy.

BU Bear as an outsider to the program which of these three would you pick? By the way congrats on the NC.

For everyone, which coach would be able to keep the most current players, including the incoming class? Some have said players would not want to play for a mid major coach Harper and some have said the opposite about Lawson because of her name recognition.

The safe hire would be Langley, but my gut says Harper.

I hope the players don't overestimate their own skills.

Any player "not wanting to play for a mid-major coach" would not have played for virtually every current top coach when they first moved up...including McGraw, Auriemma, Graves, Rueck, etc. (and that's not counting assistant coaches who moved into head positions).

Think how silly they'd feel now if they turned down those coaches on that basis alone.
