The last two democrats to win with this large of a majority

I think if I were John McCain I'd be sighing a huge sigh or relief right now because I don't have to try and fix the absolute mess George W. Bush made of this country in a time line for reelection that not even Jesus could do it in.

I like the preloading failure rationalization. That's slick. Does that mean that Obama was flat out lying (don't answer because I know he was) about the fact that he has a plan and solutions for this country?

I'm sure you don't remember the stagflation that the last pres. similar to Obama left us, but this situation isn't even remotely that bad. Reagan had that crap squared away, via induced recession in about 2.5 years.

How was he lying? He clearly has a plan and a solution, but the question is will it work in 4 years? I have my doubts, and I don't believe McCain's plan would have worked in 4 years either. I think they both can/or would have gotten things moving correctly, but solve it in one term?

the tax break for everyone under 250k was an outright lie.

In the absence of proof I'm taking him at his word. Either he implements it or he doesn't, if he fails to follow up on his ticket then he will most likely fail in a bid for reelection.

I'm not naive enough to completely take a President at his word, but as an example it is easier to overlook Bush's failure to deliver on his buzz ticket. On the other hand, when you look Americans in the eye and promise a tax-cut people are going to notice if you don't deliver. If he fails to deliver on big issues that deal with money in the pocket of arguably the biggest constituency of voters everyone is going to take notice. On the other hand I'm not even sure if that is true, Bush burned a lot of people in his first term, and people reelected him without a lot of issue (granted I didn't think much of John Kerry and 9/11 seemed to cloud a lot of our better financial judgements).

OK, I take your word for not being naive...... Now since you're not naive, please tell me why you actually voted for OBAMA. Was it his socialist programs? Was it his questionable qualifications? Was it his history of associations with wholely undesirable characters? Was it his early life Muslim upbringing? Was it the fact that he came to reject his Islamic beliefs and take on the Christian faith? Was it his racist church membership? Was it his race? Was it his wife's lifelong disappointment with America? Was it because of NBC, MSNBC, CBS, CNN, and ABC did such a good PR job?

Or was it his glorious and messianic promise of change and social ecstacy? If it was lhe promised change and political orgasm, what do you now think of the list of old, rich, leftist Democratic Washington insiders, political hacks and cronies he is filling his cabinet and White House Staff with now that he actually has the opportunity to implement that promised change.

What? He has filled maybe 3 cabinet positions(3 highly capable and competent individuals) and you are already making an assessment? You might want to actually wait until he takes office before you start spewing things for which you have no idea about.

is there anything in Obama's record to indicate that all is going to be sweetness and light?

keep in mind, that for at least the next two years, the democrats won't be able to blame republicans for anything. I'm sure they'll try, and with a fawning media they'll get away with it. Your side would go apoplectic when the right invoked Clinton's failures and their effects on the Bush administration. Get ready for equal time.

You have too much faith. Political discourse can say anything and people will buy it. Hannity is already calling this the "Obama Recession". :ermm:

don't be ridiculous. Nobody's buying that garbage from Hannity.

The markets have definitely priced in Obama and that's part of what we're seeing, but anyone that isn't a complete retard knows this is about real estate devaluation, lax RE lending, CMBS's and credit default swaps.

I bet more people buy that garbage than you think.

They're more than balanced out by all the idiotic Obama supporters who said they get their news and information from Jon Stewart, Steven Colbert, and Bill Maher.
