The lies of Tv shows and Movies

Can't believe I didn't think of this one earlier. You can't "cover up" something by nuking a location and blaming it on the (pretty convenient in the first place) nuclear plant going critical. Other than radiation there are basically no similarities whatsoever.

This was brought on by catching the end of Resident Evil:Apocalypse. Think they used the same thing at the end of the second Alien vs Predator. Probably other examples out there.

Not to defend a crappy movie, but the cover up in the Resident Evil story for Raccoon City wasn't just the nuke, it was they controlled the story too. So while you're correct, Umbrella was able to cover up any investigation.

Now if you want to say there's no way they could cover up a nuke blast like that, yeah I agree with that.

Umbrella discredited the "hoax" video footage the protagonists had been taping.* My point was trying to pass off any nuclear blast on a reactor going bad (regardless of any other plot device) is as believable as saying all the sardines in the entire city simultaneously exploded and blew the city up.

*Almost as an aside how does a fairly major city have an event like that and no word get out to begin with? IIRC the story opens with newscasts of what's going on. So there's TV, radio, phones...it's tough to swallow. Eh, sometimes I guess you just go with the show and try to enjoy it.

Breaking a Glass Window or any glass with your bare hands is easy, and won't result into any damage to your hand.
In a Episode of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, vast action movies and other moves, plus other tv shows.

This was Proven to be bullcrap in Last Actin Hero a underrated movie in my opinion where it makes fun of the Absurdites of the Action Genre. When Jack was transported to the real world he was vulernable the same as other humans.

A Bigshot of a Major Company involved with a Hooker won't result in any attention from Newspapers and other News Media.
Yes I am refering to Pretty Woman.
Even if the person has a lot of money this isn't somehing that would get no attention from the media.

I loved the show "Fringe". however, in later seasons, they began driving a Nissan Leaf, which has about a 72 mile range. Many episodes showed our heroes driving to NYC from Baltimore (or other similar distance) in less than a day, which is possible, but you're not going to do it within normal business hours.

Alligators and crocodiles skin is bulletproof.

While alligators and crocodiles have dense skin that is not easily damaged they aren't bulletproof, and heavy guns such as shotguns, rifles, etc shot at a crocodile or alligator in the head would not only result on Pierced skin but also death.

Usually how lawsuits are portrayed in movies. I got this one watching "Delivery Man", but it happens in a ton of movies. The person always needs a certain amount of money and then they are awarded that much exactly or very close. Nevermind the fact that there's almost always going to be appeals that can take forever, but even if the ruling is final, it's not like you get cut a check right after the trial. Actually collecting the money can take a long time and might be in payments, plus there are taxes, fees, etc. involved.

For that matter, I would say how courts and trials in general are portrayed. I laugh at all the stuff they act like you can do and get away with in real courts.

In Criminal Minds two of the FBI agents always go to wherever the suspect is, usually with a hostage, and make the arrest. In real life it would be a SWAT team with a hostage negotiator.

The most common of this has to be the instantly defense.
It's successful but not to the extent of what is shown in the movies.
No awkwardness after telling a Judge about a problem in the bedroom.

Any property damage with no legal problems including to public places.

I can't stand the movies, shows, and commercials that always portray "Dad" as the dumbest or most incompetent member of the household. Especially when he works as an engineer, doctor, lawyer etc.

I get what you are saying. The exaggeration is a bit much sometimes.

But.... I have an uncle that worked for NASA as an honest to goodness rocket scientist. I always admired him for his brilliance. However, when it came to normal menial tasks he was as absent minded as anyone.

The endless amount of making Muslims and other middle eastern people as Terrorists.
I would pay to see a movie with Middle Eastern Man as a counter terrorist specialist or FBI Agent, and Kiefer Sutherland as a white Terrorist Leader yes I hate 24 that much with using middle eastern people as terrorists.

I'm not saying they don't exist but the way they continue to portray it, it's the same as when Italians constantly got used as Mobsters instead of Russians, Irish, etc.

Is it so damn hard to portray Muslims or Middle eastern people as Firefighters, Army Soldiers, Detectives, or something freakin positive for crying out loud hell no.
But I guess one bright side I wouldn't have thought of writing a movie with a Muslim Male Hero if this wasn't a major problem In Hollywood.

Lol

This ain't freakin funny at all I'm damn serious.

Torture is going to result in reliable successful information most of the time.
Major bullcrap shown from 24.

to be honest, it's amazing how long Hollywood has allowed TV shows to portray Muslims as terrorists. Tom Clancy's book "The Sum of All Fears" tells the story of how an Islamic terror group acquires the material and means to create a nuclear weapon, it is built, and later detonated outside an American football stadium. In the movie version, which came after 911, it was deemed insensitive to Islam and the terrorist cell was changed to a white, European Bader-Meinhoff-type group.

In the 80's/90's it was Russians/Germans/other commies. Now it's muslims. Hollywood follows current trends. If muslims weren't being barbaric all over the world, and instead it was Chilean Jews, I am sure we would have more movies about terrorist Jews.

Until you get a middle eastern or Arab or Muslim president, CEO or in some other major position in Hollywood businesses no doubt it'll continue.

Quite frankly I believe it's the result of after 9/11 Hollywood jumped on the bandwagon of to put Muslims, Arabs, or middle eastern people to be shown in negative lights.
Still I consider that lame as originally from source material the book it's a Islamic terrorist group, and this was only changed due to that pressure otherwise they would have used the Islamic terrorist group.

And damn I do fond it astounding that you have that event, theater shooting forcing gangster squad to get moved to January, plus some other terrorist attack before vs for vendetta happening before the movies are released.

Whether a book being made a tv show or movie, or a tv show or movie be great to see what I listed. That or a group of neonazis being fought by a middle eastern or Muslim police officer, detective, FBI agent, Etc.

Damn 24 may have been the Godfather of it, a amazing tv show with phenomenal ratings if it's successful it shall be reused and copied in Hollywood.
Look at how many times they've tried to make a equal to Jaws and failed.

There are still neonazis yet I can't recall seeing them in Hollywood movies other than American history x.
Somali pirates where the heck are they other than the captain Phillips movie,

And I would say it's more being lazy and let's use something predictable and easy.

Somali pirates are Muslims

Somali pirates are Muslims

Ok then use pirates that aren't Somali, damn I was mega foolish on that.

Hollywood is the business of recycle what's been used, and don't take much chances on smothering that would be different or a attempt at originality.
So one should not be shocked.

greek life in films: it's almost always a 6-12 person hodgepodge of guys, including 1 fatty, living in a huge house. it's never the 40-60 person chapter like you see across America.

How many NeoNazis are committing acts of massive terror?

So what show a bunch of South Caroline sea grass farmers as pirates? Who makes the news for piracy? Who makes the news for Terrorism? That is what determines movie themes. Ever see anyone harping on more non white serial killer movies? No..
